My man Obama has done it again! He continues to amaze and impress me. Never in all my life have I been so jazzed about voting for a presidential candidate! So what is it he has done now you ask? Well, he made an announcement to his supporters early this morning saying he will not be participating in public financing during the general election.

“It’s not an easy decision especially because I support a robust system of public financing of presidential elections,” Mr. Obama said in the video. “But the public financing of presidential elections as it exists today is broken.”

He complained that the campaign of his rival, Senator John McCain is “fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs.” Mr. Obama said he would run his campaign on small donations.

“If we don’t stand together, the broken system we have now, a system where special interests drown out the voices of the American people will continue to erode our politics and prevent the possibility of real change,” he said.

He would absolutely be a president for the people! How long has it been since we’ve had one of those? Way too long! You can listen to his entire announcement here.

There was more good news this week — Mozilla released Firefox 3.0 on Tuesday, and it totally rocks! Have you downloaded it yet? It is SO much faster and robust! I’m completely lovin’ it. Oh, and they met and surpassed the record they set for themselves — 5 million downloads in one day. They actually had over 8 million! At one point they were serving over 14,000 downloads a minute! If you don’t already have it, I strongly suggest you get it. It’s totally the bees knees!

OK, gotta go — have yourself a happy day!
