Remember the other day when I was telling you guys about my cool daughter and her cool friend, Zach? Well, I just so happen to have this picture of them together, which I had to beg my daughter to let me post because she thinks it’s a bad angle since they were taking it themselves, but I finally talked her into it. (yay me!) Don’t they look like they just have so much fun together? I can’t help but break out into a big fat smile every time I look at this.
Hope it makes you smile, too.
P.S. Because I just saw the headline for today’s edition of The New York Times, and because I want to be perfectly clear, I must reiterate yet AGAIN how much I despise Bush and everything he has done to this country, and can hardly wait until he is out of office! That goes for most of his administration, too. Thank God we get a new president soon — and it better not be McCain! (or as I like to call him, Bush Jr.)

Hi there.
Long time, eh? I’m finally over the flu. Took about 2 1/2 weeks but it’s gone now, thank goodness. Man, that stuff is brutal! How have you been?
I thought I’d alert you guys to an email virus making the rounds right now. I only know about it because I’m naturally skeptical about emails I receive from anyone and anything other than my friends, and I’m glad I am! I received an email that looked exactly like the notifications sent out by Hallmark when someone has sent you an ecard, but I immediately noticed it was sent by “A Friend”. Now I don’t know about you, but when I receive an ecard the sender’s name is always attached, and when I send one to my friends I always use my name, not simply “a friend”. So anyway, the first thing I always do with a suspicious email is mouse over the links to see if the URL they lead to is actually the site they’re supposed to lead to, and the ones in this particular email absolutely did not. In fact, the link didn’t lead to a web site at all — it was a link to an .exe file! You all know what that means, right? VIRUS! So then I went to Hallmark’s legitimate web site and found this ecard alert and thought I should pass it along to you. People who use their “skills” to ruin it for everyone else really piss me off. They’re the cyber version of the schoolyard bully. Don’t let them get the best of you — pay attention and be alert with those emails!

This flu is really kickin’ my butt. It’s the cough and sore throat that has a strong hold on me and won’t let go, dammit anyway. I just keep saying “hopefully tomorrow” I’ll feel better. So, hopefully tomorrow. ;)
Thanks to my wonderful friend Kirsi, I now know that something is screwed up ONCE AGAIN with my comments. Right now I just don’t have the energy or inclination to spend an hour on the phone with tech support, but I’ll try to get it taken care of soon. Until then I’ll just turn comments off on all new posts.
On a brighter note, the weather here as been gorgeous! Beautiful, warm, sunny days, and the robins are back! I hear them singing every day now. Spring is almost here! Yay!
I hope you are all feeling healthy and happy! Have a great weekend!

Hubs, Daughter and I have all been down with influenza, as have thousands of others across the country. I haven’t even felt like looking at the computer, let alone actually sit here to do anything. It’s been really awful. Hope the rest of you are doing much better! Will update again when I’m up to par.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, hasn’t it. I have a lot of personal things going on right now, so there hasn’t been much time spent here at the computer.
I’ve been watching the news and was shocked to hear that 45 people were killed in those horrible storms in Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Alabama. Twenty-four of them died in Tennessee alone. So completely weird that such deadly tornadoes are happening in February! Kinda’ makes me think it’s an ominous sign of things to come weather-wise this Spring and Summer. Tornadoes are by far the most terrifying weather phenomenon because they hit so fast. They’re extremely scary at any time, but having one hit in the middle of the night is a nightmare. My heart goes out to all the families affected by these storms.
It’s been very cold here and we’ve had a lot of snow this winter. It’s been sort of neat. I’ve actually enjoyed it this winter. It’s hard for me to believe that it’s already February, though. Wow, time is going MUCH too fast!
My daughter’s dog passed away a week ago today. We have no idea what happened. She was outside for a while and when my daughter went to let her back in she could barely stand up and walk. We thought she was just cold, so we took her into Callie’s room and put her in the bed and under the electric blanket so she could warm up, but that didn’t help. She just laid there and kind of looked around, but didn’t move. My daughter noticed that she was very, very pale. I checked and couldn’t believe how pale her gums were. By the time we realized something really serious was going on, she had a seizure and died. As I said, we have no idea what happened. My gut is telling me she had a stroke. She had seizures from time-to-time as Cocker Spaniels are prone to having, but she always came out of them very well and was fine afterward. *sigh* I don’t know. It was just very sad and completely devastating. Sage was Callie’s “baby” and they loved each other very much. Sage was completely devoted to her. The whole thing is just heartbreaking.
Well, I won’t bore you any longer. ;) I hope you all have a really wonderful day.
