I received a phone call today from one of the people to whom Deb sent that email. It was from a gal with whom I had worked at a bank years and years ago and who I knew as having a different last name. Turns out she’s now a County Commissioner and guess what she told me? She said that as of now the County has no jurisdiction over the Humane Society and what they do because they do not have a contract with them. Then she said that they are currently in negotiations with the HS but it has not been going well at all, and this event certainly doesn’t make her feel any better about them! Hmmmm.
While she couldn’t really help me, she sure did give me some interesting information, as well as the name of the City Attorney. I’ve located a place on the City’s web site where one can send an email to him. Do you think I should contact him now, or wait until after the advisement hearing?

It might be good to be proactive. It seems like you could contact him both before and after the advisement hearing.
Best of luck

If I were you, I would contact first. A good defense is a good offense!

Cassie and Linda — I decided to do exactly what you two suggested — be proactive and make an offensive move. I sent him a loooong email.
Debbie — Thank you, my friend!

before the hearing it’s a good idea to be visible when in the right. keep your contact factual and no need to drop names, etc. you are just giving a heads-up and letting cooler heads prevail.
