This totally cracked me up when I saw it. It also made me think about how blessed I’ve been with my kids. My three kids are pretty spread out age-wise: 29, 24, and 15. I got “lucky” with all of them. Oh I guess we had a few minor problems with the oldest when he was a teenager, but I’ve apologized to him many times since then for making so many of our mistakes and learning our lessons with him. LOL It’s always the oldest who is the learning tool, right? It’s all good, though, because amazingly enough he doesn’t even remember that stuff! Ahh, youth is such a wonderful thing. ;) He’s grown into a really wonderful man and we couldn’t be more proud.
Our middle son was pretty much a breeze, and so is our daughter, but I made both of them promise to be good teenagers and they kept their promises. LOL One thing I always made sure of was that I knew where they were, who they were with, and when they were going to be home. They never seemed to mind it, either. When I look at some of the crap teens are doing today, I count my lucky stars, believe me!
My daughter, in fact, told me a story the other day which made me realize even more how very cool she is.
She has a good friend named Zach who just turned 18. He’s a very cool kid, too. They hang out almost every day and really have fun. The other night she came in laughing and handed me a piece of paper saying “Here, I made this for you”. It was a page out of a coloring book. She and Zach had colored pictures in his little brother’s coloring book that night and she did one for me. It was so cute! It’s been AGES since she’s colored me a picture. She showed me the one Zach colored for her. It was very purdy.
The next day the two of them went to the museum. When they were leaving she said Zach turned to her and said, “Most kids our age are out partying and getting high, and here we are going to museums and coloring”. She was like, “I know, we’re so lame”. LOL Lame? No. Cool? Absolutely! And I am one lucky mom!

Thank you so much.
When my 15 year-old son died in a drowning accident, we donated his kidneys and corneas. I got a note forwarded to me from the eye bank from the mother of a 7 month old baby boy who had been born blind, and because of my son, had perfect vision. I cried all day, but was so happy to get that letter.

Oh Cas, you made me cry. How very, very loving and selfless of you to donate your son’s kidneys and corneas. Many blessings to you, my friend.

That was such a fun post! Sounds like you’re a fabulous mom to have such fabulous kids. Your daughter sounds like she’s got a great head on her shoulders. Congratulations on getting “lucky”. I think it’s just good parenting.
