Actor Heath Ledger was found dead this afternoon in a Manhattan apartment owned by actress Mary-Kate Olsen. He was found by the housekeeper and a masseuse with whom he had an appointment today. I’m just … shocked … and heartbroken. It’s difficult to take in and process. It just seems so impossible. He was only 28 years old.
I’ve been “in lust” with Heath Ledger for years. He was a magnificent actor, with a face and voice that melted me every time. He could play both dramatic and comedic roles equally well, which is hard to do for an actor. It’s just utterly tragic. His poor little girl. She’s only 2 years old.
What an enormous loss.
*UPDATE* The NYPD has confirmed that he was NOT in Mary-Kate Olsen’s apartment.

Such a fine actor and human being. Another true Aussie legend gone well before his time.
It’s just incredibly sad, and unbelievable at this point in time. Heath Ledger dead?! Nah. He can’t be.
My heart weeps for his family and closest friends.

It was so unexpected. I wish his family well. He will be missed. I too, love his acting. He should have had a long life ahead of him.

Here I am on February 1st, finally, not really responding to the sadness I felt about Mr. Ledger, but mainly to say hi and sorry I have been so bad about not coming to visit you. Although from what I can see, you’ve not been posting very often.
