MT Users Listen Up

If you’re an MT user like me, then you definitely want to know about this (just in case you missed it on your main menu page). It’s a very simple fix for catching all that nasty comment and trackback spam:

1. Login to Movable Type. (Your account will need to have System Administrator privileges.)
2. Click on the “Plugins” link in the main navigation on the left hand side.
3. Look for the “SpamLookup - Lookups” plugin set listed among your other plugins.
4. Click “Show Settings.”
5. Under “IP Blacklist Services” highlight and replace the text “opm.blitzed.org” with “zen.spamhaus.org”.
6. Click “Save Settings.”

    I am an MT user, but my experience is that it is so dicey, I hate to try to install plugins or do anything that might invite a classic screw-up. Thanks for the suggestion though.cccclea
