Sweet Lily Smarty-Pants

Hubby and Son were released from South Dakota, so they’re both back home now. They’re not sure if it’s going to last, but for now they’re holding the boards here in Sterling. Hubs went on his first solo run as an Engineer last night. As he put it, “it was definitely a learning experience”. LOL

So, most of you know how much I love my dogs, right? I’ve told you how beautiful and smart they are many times, right? Well, let me illustrate just how smart they are - at least how smart Miss Lily is:

It was only about 16 hours after Hubby returned home from South Dakota when his cell phone rang for him to go to work. He was asleep in his recliner. Lily heard the phone, jumped up on him, sat down on his stomach and began to paw at him to wake him up. She did, too! He woke up and got the call before it stopped ringing. Now, is that one smart dog or what!

I began Thoughtprints almost 6 years ago when I needed an outlet, and this blog became exactly that for me. I truly hope you enjoy your time here.

  2. I’d say she’s a smart dog… now… if we can make an alarm clock that barks and pounces!

  3. Whoa! I never doubt the intelligence of animals, but that is just… great!!!

Give her a knuckle in the deep part of the ear for me, (then let her smell your knuckle. Oh dogs! Suckers for weird smells!)

  4. LOL Bev!, you’re so right! Why don’t you do that! You’ll make a billion dollars! ;)

Terry, is that ever the truth! My dogs will roll in the nastiest smelling stuff! I have no idea why they do that. It’s just gross. Riley, our alpha dog and tiniest (6.5 pounds) particularly loves to roll on dead bugs in the summer. It’s simply heinous.
