Movies, Anyone?
While this is not a movie blog, I do love movies, so snagged the design cuz I thought it was cool. ;) ANYway, I wanna tell you guys about the other day when we took Cheyenne swimming!!
We went at just the right time of day, because there was only one small group of people at the far end of the pond when we got there. We made sure to stay far away from those who were fishing so as not to bother them. My rationale was that if we stayed at the opposite end, we’d scare all the fish down to them so they could catch ‘em! LOL It wasn’t until after we had returned home that I was told by my sister’s boyfriend that swimming is not allowed there. Curious to see if we had missed a sign somewhere, we drove all the way back out there before I dropped the girls off at the skating rink, and sure enough, right there at the entrance was a big green sign! LOL Oh well! Too bad, so sad! If we go in the heat of the day when no one is there fishing, I don’t see the prob, do you?? ;)
Cheyenne had a BLAST!! Being a deprived water dog, it took a a couple of tries to get the hang of swimming well and retrieving in the water, but once she got it, she was off and going at break-neck speed! Even when she looked sooo tired, she kept on goin’! The Energizer Labrador! LOL! The added bonus was that she was extremely well-behaved, too! A family came to fish a while after we had arrived, and they brought their Pit Bull, but left it tied to the “pier” the whole time (why bring the dog if all you’re going to do is leave it tied up???). It was constantly in an anxious state, yipping and barking. Cheyenne started to head over there, but when we hollered for her to come back, she did, and she ignored that dog for the remainder of our time there! I was SO proud of her! So proud, in fact, that when we stopped at McDonalds on the way home, I bought her her own cheeseburger and fries. ;) She was a very happy puppy dog.
I snapped a bunch of pics, and have tried to pick the best of the best to post here. I didn’t want to include too many and bog down those of you on slow connections. Hope you enjoy!
Teaching herself how to do it! ;)

I know this one doesn’t look real, but it is! I took this when she was staring at the Pit Bull!

And for good measure, a couple of pics I took of my beautiful girl later that evening.

Sorry if I overdid it!!

OH WOWW!!!! These are GREAT!!! You certainly didn’t over do it, Leigh. lol I want more!!!!!!!! jj
The poor elderly lady was left extremely distressed. She had that little doggie for 13 yrs. Luckily she left her two other poodles in the car.
I think those people did the right thing with their pit bull. They can be very dangerous dogs. Personally, I don’t like ‘em at all. There was a story in our local newspaper just last week about a lady who was leaving the vet’s with her little, elderly poodle when it was attacked by a not so nice dog. It was a bull mastiff or pit bull…I can’t remember. Anyway, this dog broke free from its leash and went in for the kill.
Thanks for sharing a part of your wonderful day-out with the girls and beautiful Cheyenne. She’s such a good dog.
))
And Callie…she just gets prettier every time I see her.
