HOT!
It’s a HOT one here today! Just after 4:00 in the afternoon and 94 degrees. We’re way below normal for rainfall to date, too, so there’s a red flag warning out, which means fire danger is HIGH. Lots of pastures and grasslands ’round these parts, so fear of fire is very real. I guess they’ve already banned all fireworks for the 4th (how do they know it won’t rain a bunch in June???). That’s okay, though, cuz the City will still have their big display I think. Oh, and the new pool will be hosting it’s HUGE city-wide 4th of July swimming party! Did I tell you about that pool?? We have a really wonderful Recreation Center here, with a huge indoor pool, but we no longer have an outdoor one. Well, seems a local man thought that just wasn’t right (as MANY of us did), and decided to DONATE half a million bucks to the City to build a brand new outdoor pool, with the stipulation that it be completed by the 4th and that they have a FREE party for all who wish to attend!! Is that WAY COOL or what!! Oh man, if I had the bucks, I’d be doin’ stuff like that, too!! Wouldn’t that just be SO MUCH fun!!! I’m sure Callie and her friends will be going and enjoying the new pool on the 4th!
