Rain and Stupid Grown-ups
See that beach up there? That’s where I wanna be!!!
And I wanna take my nephew, Zach, with me, cuz today is HIS 21st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
How lucky is he that his 21st lands on a Friday!? He lives in Denver, where he attends school, so we won’t get to see him, but believe me, we’re all with him in spirit!
We got the nicest rain last night. A slow, steady, light rain. It smelled sooo good, and it was wonderful listening to it in the dark. I love the sound of rain. Especially at night. I like to let it sing me to sleep.
Not much of that goin’ on last night, though. ![]()
Have I ever told you what my maiden name is? No? Well, it’s Humphries. Not a common name ’round these parts at all. In fact, we were the only Humphries in town the whole time I was growing up; however, there was a man named Cal Humphrey who was the manager of the Beef Plant. I kid you not, every single time I was introduced to someone new, they would always ask me if I was related to him. Even then, as a kid, I wondered how grown-ups could be so stupid - and deaf! One name ends in an “s”, the other one doesn’t! DUH! Now that I am a grown-up, I wonder if kids think
. Do ya’ s’pose? ![]()
So last night at around 3:30am I got a sudden burst of energy and ended up vacuuming the corners and walls up high in my livingroom. Looks a lot better.
I also decided it was waaaay too long since the inside of the ‘puter had been cleaned, so I opened her up and vacuumed that, too. And guess what? It’s running MUCHO better!
The down-side is that I haven’t slept since I got up yesterday. And it’s 7 minutes past noon! I’m finally starting to feel tired, though.
Maybe I can actually fall asleep if I lie down. ![]()
Ya’ll have a great rest of the day! ![]()

What beach?! hahaha you changed it again!
How come you can’t sleep? Cool that you were vacuuming at 3:30 AM, I love it when you can do that, not having to answer to anyone or adhere to any schedule. I hope you got some sleep!
