It’s That Day!!

OK, people, you know what today is, don’t you? You don’t?? Oh c’mon, think! What’s the date today? Thaaat’s right … it’s TAX DAY!!!! Oh what fun! NOT! Are YOUR taxes done?? Ours are. Thank God. I HATE tax time! I don’t think my middle son has done his yet. I’ll be calling him early in the morning to wake him up with the good news that TIME’S ALMOST UP!!!! Ohhh yeah, it’s so much fun torturing your kids!

Hey ya’ll, I watched the BEST show on The History Channel tonight! My sister turned me on to this new series called Ten Days That Unexpectedly Changed America, which she is taping for one of her classes at school (Right On, Sis! ), and tonight’s segment was “Massacre at Mystic”. OMG, it was SO good! It made me cry - several times. If you click the above link (the “Ten Days” one), it’ll take you to a page with all the episodes listed. Click on “Massacre at Mystic” and read - you will learn and be inspired to watch the show. I have very, very strong feelings about what happened (and continues to happen) to Native Americans. It hurts me … deep down. I feel such an affinity with them. Ever since I was a child I’ve been fascinated with and by their beautiful culture. It goes to the very essence of being - the spirit. That one word embodies everything they believe. The show tonight rocked my soul and broke my heart. The way human beings can rationalize brutality to the point that they believe it is right and just, and even sanctioned by God, is truly unbelievable. I see all the massacres of Native Americans as genocide, pure and simple. No word describing anything less is appropriate - or correct!

Anyway …. if you get the chance, check out the show. It’s fantastic!

Hey, it’s almost Easter. If you’re traveling this weekend, stay safe. And HAPPY EASTER to one and all! Oh, and don’t eat too much chocolate!
