The Harshness of Daylight
As day broke, the lookie-loos were out in force surveying the damage of last night’s tornado — my daughter and I among them. What we saw was stunning. Last night’s darkness shielded our sight from the harsh reality of Mother Nature’s wrath, now quite evident in the light of day. I’ve never seen anything like it — not personally, that is. It’s quite amazing.
We have all 4 networks from Denver here with their huge satellite trucks, all parked and perched next to Burger King downtown, which is across the street from the car dealership whose metal roof was ripped off, landing on the used car lot. There is 9NEWS (nbc), news4colorado (cbs), FOX31 News and, with the best internet coverage I’ve seen so far, 7NEWS (abc).
I look at what happened and marvel at what nature can do, and the force with which she does it. This was considered a small tornado, folks; I can only imagine how much worse it could have been had the twister been bigger and stronger. While I am really sad to see so much of my town damaged, I am extremely grateful it wasn’t any worse. No one was killed, and it makes great fodder for the small town gossip mill — all in all, I ‘d say it was a good day.
P.S. I’m still getting that nasty little arrow, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why! grrrrr! Evidently it’s not visible in IE; only Mozilla. Dumb browsers. LOL Anyway, just ignore it. ;)

Wow, Leigh! We got a little bit of lightning and some heavy rain, but that was it. I’m so glad you and your family are all ok and that there were only injuries in town. (((Hugs)))

I’ve never been near a tornado, but have been real up-close and personal with hurricanes.
Mother Nature can sure do a job. Glad you’re all OK
