Hi, Everyone. I thought while I had some time I’d change the decor a little bit and post an update regarding Mom.

She was transferred to another hospital yesterday, quite out of the blue. Her internist said he had done all that he could medically for her here, but would very much like her to go to Ft. Collins for an angiogram (our hospital is not equipped with a cath lab). Much to our surprise Mom agreed. They took her by ambulance around noon yesterday. She had the procedure done today and so far, according to my sisters (I couldn’t go since my daughter is on Spring break from school this week), everything looked fairly good, aside from the fact that apparently my Mom was born with a “curly” aorta. As far as the damage done to her heart from her 2 heart attacks in the last week and a half, I have no information as yet. As soon as my sisters are able to speak with her cardiologist, they will call me.

They have also called in a wound care specialist (thank God!) to look at her legs and feet, and are scheduling a scan of her legs, looking to see if she might have an infection in the bone. Needless to say, she’s pretty much a mess and is on so many pain meds that she’s completely loopy all the time, but regardless of all that, she keeps her sense of humor and is ALWAYS polite (something very important to her, loopy or not lol). I got to talk to her on the phone this afternoon, and it made me feel soooo much better. We don’t know for sure how long she will remain in the hospital up there, so we’re just taking it as it comes, one day at a time.
