Update on Dog Story
It appears the dog kennel with 2 dogs inside which was set afire last night, killing the female adult Lab inside, was stolen from the Humane Society in Englewood. UNBELIEVABLE! You know what this means, don’t you. It means that whoever did this, set out to do it … it was PLANNED. It wasn’t like … a spur of the moment, “oh man, I need to get rid of these dogs before my landlord evicts me” kind of thing. They were stolen, tortured, and one of them was murdered. The puppy (which turns out to be a Shepherd mix, not Lab) is going to live, Thank God. I wish people could be put away for life for killing animals! Damn sick bastards!

Miserable people. Sometimes I just don’t understand the human race.

In my opinion, everything that was done to those poor, sweet dogs, should be done to the sick humans who did this. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way.

I was watching Animal Planet last night and there was a story about a breeder who had 49 fox terriers living in poor condition in an apartment in Brooklyn. They were not only living in poor condition but they were neglected. Luckily the guy was convicted of animal abuse and the terriers were all being adopted. They were beautiful dogs with sweet personalities. People like this guy and the person who set fire to the kennel should be treated the same way that they treated these animals.

I waited a few days to comment on this posting as things like this make me so emotional, and when I truely rant, I am not to be stopped, and no comment system would be able to hold all of my feelings. What really bugs me is that the laws involving cruelty to animals are so light. In Ohio, if a person shoots and kills your dog, you can sue him as a loss of “property”. Now we both know that our pets are not property…they are family. If someone even came near my pets (and I don’t have any right now) with an intent to harm, I’d drive my car through their living room.
