A Special Day!
A day unlike any other
Come and join the jubilation
The anniversary of the birth of my Mother!
You don’t know her, you say?
Of course not, oh silly me!
Allow me to introduce her –
Her name is Beverly
A woman of honor and strength
Raising three girls single-handedly
There’s Debbie, the oldest, then Kelly was next
And the baby of the family — that’s me!
She worked hard all those years
To give us whatever she was able
Making sure our humble home
Was filled with love and always stable
Instilling in us family values and morals
Making sure we knew right from wrong
Teaching us by glowing example
How to be dependable and strong
Self-sacrifice was common
Never thinking twice to go without
So that we would have what we needed
Regardless of her financial drought
Her love and commitment rock solid
No matter what life threw her way
Fighting her way through each struggle
Valiantly beginning anew each day
She raised three girls up into women
Devotion utmost in her heart of gold
Crying as we spread our wings
But setting us free to fly on our own
So please join me on this day
A day unlike any other
As I announce with love, pride and gratitude
Happy Birthday To My Mother!

Congratulations Beverly on raising a wonderful daughter, and teaching her the meaning of true goodness. Leigh, if you have passed those lessons from your mother, your children must be amazing.

Oh Leigh, that brought tears to my eyes, it was just sooo beautiful.
Happy Birthday Beverly. Rachel beat me to it but I will echo what she said - you have raised a beautiful daughter and I cherish her friendship. And without a doubt Debbie and Kelly (though I don’t know them) can only be just a wonderful as Leigh.
