Patchwork Thoughts

Well, it’s about 1:30am Sunday and I think I’m finally finished with the redesign of the redesign. lol As sad or strange as it may be, working at my computer is one of the two things which totally takes my mind off of everything I don’t want to think about; the other being movies, but there wasn’t anything good on TV tonight, so here I am, doing graphic work. It completely relaxes me as I get lost in my work. I suppose that’s one of the reasons why my layout changes so often — much needed distraction and relaxation!

I was sitting out on my porch yesterday morning and saw a young man of about 15 or so in my neighbor’s yard across the street; he was picking up their dog poop. I wondered who he was and why he was picking up their dog doo doo since they have kids of their own. He was dressed in all black with a chain around his neck, and had black hair. Very goth-looking. At one point, he lifted the pooper scooper into the air and played with the lever, as if grabbing at the clouds. Do you s’pose he just thought it was cool, or was he daydreaming about something? I wondered what he was thinking about as he made the trip back and forth to the trash can over and over. He looked rather serious. Maybe he was being made to do it as punishment for something. Maybe he volunteered. Or, perhaps they were paying him to do it. Regardless of the reason, it made for an interesting study, albeit momentary (yes, I’m an avid people-watcher *wink*).

Speaking of sitting on my porch — last night when I went out there, for some reason I forgot to check my chair first as I always do at night, and I sat right down on my cat! He let me know in no uncertain terms that he did not like it one little bit, and told me never to do it again. ;) Poor kitty. lol

We’re getting the most beautiful rain right now. Slow and steady. And it smells like the mountains out there. Mmmmm ….

I think I’ll go outside and enjoy it a while.

I envy your porch and the displays of nature you witness while sitting out there. If I ever travel to your neck of the woods, visiting you so we can chat on your porch will be #1 on my list of destinations! Happy weekend to you, Leigh!

P.S. - Cats are such babies!

people watching is one thing we have in common. Every Sunday, we go to Borders. I order a pot of tea, English Breakfast, for Kevin and an Iced coffee something for me. If the kids are with us, Kyle gets a pot of tea, Earl Grey, and Cheryl gets a Cherry French Soda, Large. I sit in the corner table, in a comfy chair, listening to “my” music, crocheting and watching people go about their lives… it is so relaxing.
