…. And Counting

Only TWO more days until I get my little guy!!!! (as in puppy *hehe*)

I need some help picking out a name, though. I simply can NOT decide!! So, I thought maybe you could help me?

Here are the names I have so far. Circle the one you like best:

Riley
Samson
Sebastian
Gus
Strutter (cuz he does lol)
Shiloh

So far, I’m leaning towards either Riley or Samson. So what do you think? Like any of ‘em? If not, do you have suggestions of your own?

I really appreciate your help!! When he gets old enough, I’ll be sure to tell him about all his cyber aunts and uncles who helped pick out his name! lol

The Hills Are Alive

Have you ever paid attention to the sound of seasons?

They each have their own distinct sounds, but I love Spring/Summer the best! A concert of birdsong every morning; lawn mowers; children playing; crickets chirping; toads croaking after a big rain; insects buzzing about; sprinklers sprinkling; motorcycles; thunder and rain (my personal favorite) — the list goes on and on. I totally love to sit outside, close my eyes and listen to Spring & Summer; or lie in bed early in the morning, listening to nature’s call to a new day. Ahhhhhh

So … when was the last time you listened to the seasons?

*Take Comfort* Edition

this-or-that tuesday

Take Comfort…

Which is more comforting for you…

1. Lying down on the couch, or stretching out on a recliner?  Recliner (Zzzzz)

2. Going barefoot or wearing soft slippers?  Barefoot baby!

3. Eating ice cream, or pizza?  Ice cream

4. Watching on TV…a classic movie or a reality show?  Reality (which is actually an escape, cuz those people’s reality is NOTHING like mine! LOL)

5. Wearing: blue jeans or sweat pants?  Blue jeans

6. A long, soothing bubble bath or a quick, invigorating shower?  Looooong soothing bath

7. Furniture: leather, or something more on the fuzzy side?  Fuzzy wuzzy

8. Soft, classical music, or upbeat rock & roll?  Depends on my mood. I like both.

9. Darkness or light?  For what?? ;) Generally speaking, I could probably be mistaken for a vampire — except I don’t melt in sunlight. *snicker*

10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You get married, or otherwise begin cohabitating with a significant other. S/he moves into your place, but brings with them the UGLIEST chair you have ever seen! You really don’t want this thing in your home, but SO says it is the most comfy chair s/he has ever sat in, and no way will they part with it. Do you: grin and bear it, or scheme to get rid of the monstrosity somehow?  I would grin and bear it …. and gently suggest reupholstering. ;)

Editorializing

Police officers …. sworn to serve and protect. So what is it that goes so horribly wrong that while they are serving and protecting us, they are abusing their own? Consider this story out of Tacoma, Washington –

excerpt:

Police Chief David Brame [....] shot her in the head with a semiautomatic handgun Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a Gig Harbor shopping plaza. Their two young children, who were unhurt, sat in his car a few spaces away.

And this story from right here in my hometown –

excerpt:

According to a release from District Attorney Mark Adams, sheriff

He’s sooo cute!!

Well, I did it! I picked out my new baby! And he is absolutely ADORABLE!! Now, here’s the kicker — I took my camera, but left it in the car until we met the nice dog lady and had a look at the babies, then I was going to go out and get it. Well … ummm …. yeah, uh …. I totally forgot about it. I know, I know …. DUH!!! I guess I was just too into meeting the puppies and stuff. I didn’t think about it again until we were about 10 miles down the road on our way home. We go to pick him up Friday evening (he won’t be old enough to leave until then), so I PROMISE I will take plenty of pics next weekend after he is home with us!

He is so tiny, and so cute! He prances around like he is totally proud of himself all the time. lol Seriously! He really has an attitude of confidence, and even though he’s itty bitty, I think he believes he’s quite large.

Okay, moving right along. *wink* On a completely different note, I think this is creepy, and just plain wrong! (via The Smoking Gun) What do you think??
