Bits and Pieces

Our Springlike weather is over. It is bitterly cold and REALLY snowing hard! The snow is very welcome, though. I hope it turns out to be a wet snow so the wheat farmers can breath a tiny sigh of relief — for a while, anyway. Six inches is predicted. Oh boy, we get to scoop snow tomorrow. :hmph Oh well, it’s worth it.

Mom is recovering nicely from her surgery. She will be hospitalized for a few more days. I want to thank all of you who have offered your sincere wishes for a speedy recovery. I appreciate the kind words and prayers more than I can say! :angel

Oh, guess what! I — yes, that’s right, li’l ol’ me — discovered the cure for exhaustion!

It’s called SLEEP!!!!!! Who woulda’ thought!! :lol Yep, I actually slept last night. For 8 straight hours! I think that’s some kind of record for me or something. I don’t think I even moved all night. I woke up groggy as hell, but it sure felt good to actually rest! Maybe my bout of insomnia is over. *crossing fingers* :wink

Do you think people who abuse animals should get prison time? If so, how much? If not, what kind of punishment should they get? I saw something on TV about this, and it got me to thinking. I think there would have to be a breakdown between animal neglect; animal cruelty; animal abuse; and animal mutilation, with appropriate punishments for each, including psychological counseling, sensitivity training, and community service in animal hospitals and shelters and yes, prison time where needed. It’s been shown that people who are severely cruel to animals oftentimes graduate to human beings. Maybe if we put a stop to some of this early on, it would actually decrease the amount of violent crime committed. What do you think???

Okay, I’m finished boring you with the strange ramblings of my mind. I’m gonna go find something to eat. Have a wonderful Sunday! :flower

Have fun in the snow, my friend!:smile

In answer to your question about animal cruelty…YES, councelling while in jail would be fitting. I was shocked and horrified when Andrew came home from school and told me about a boy who tortured and frightened his cat sooo much it ran off and died. Scared the poor thing to death. *sigh* Apparently the boy’s mother is terrible to him. A vicious cycle, huh? NO, Andrew is NOT friends with this boy.
