Disturbing, to Say the Least
I heard a very sobering fact yesterday:
More women are physically abused in the United States on Super Bowl Sunday than any other day of the year. I can’t remember the number exactly, but it was staggering — something like 40%.
I don’t think there are too many theories one can come up with to explain it, other than too much alcohol being consumed and a football game taken much too seriously; including, of course, the betting and losing of money which too many cannot afford. I think that about covers it.
One day. One game. One party. A grand time had by all. Except for the hundreds of women being beaten. A pathetic commentary on the society in which we live when a day of football renders so many innocent women battered and bruised. Sobering, yes …. and disturbing, to say the very least.

without a doubt the main factor is alcohol - i have seen a few decent men turn into total aggressive pricks after consuming a little more than they can handle.

God forbid that a woman interfere between a man and his Super Bowl Game!!! I mean….come on, what’s more important? All I can say is D U H and M E N !
