How many of you have heard about the "The Blue Man" fraud? You know, the one where a man supposedly turned blue from taking colloidal silver? Yeah, it never happened. Although the news media has continually said that he was taking colloidal silver, nothing could be further from the truth. The Blue Man story became a major media disinformation event which was produced by a public relations firm and paid for by a pharmaceutical interest. The purpose of this campaign was to scare the public away from using colloidal silver products. The tactic was to claim that the Blue Man's condition was caused by his use of colloidal silver thus implying that anyone who uses colloidal silver would suffer a similar fate. The entire story as presented is a study in blatant misrepresentation. The fact is that Paul has a condition called argyria, which turns the skin a blue-gray color. He got this condition by taking his homemade silver compound that was mostly a highly concentrated ionic silver solution. When he prepared the solution he believed he was making colloidal silver. He was not making colloidal silver. To make the solution even more dangerous, he added salt to the brew and then used electrolysis to make a high concentration of silver chloride with large particles which is well known to cause argyria. He further applied the compound to his skin causing him to become an internal and external photographic plate. To finish himself off, he used a tanning bed to "fix" the silver in his body. The moral of the story is to know the difference between true colloidal silver and ionic silver or silver proteins, and don't try to make either at home! (True colloidal silver cannot be made at home.)
So, just what is colloidal silver? Well, colloidal silver is a liquid suspension of microscopic particles of silver. A colloid is technically defined as particles which remain suspended without forming an ionic, or dissolved solution. The good news about colloidal silver is that it appears to be a powerful, natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. Acting as a catalyst, it reportedly disables the enzyme that one-celled bacteria, viruses and fungi need for their oxygen metabolism. They suffocate without corresponding harm occurring to human enzymes or parts of the human body chemistry. The result is the destruction of disease-causing organisms in the body and in the food.
Mesosilver is the most effective colloidal silver on the market today. It is 0.9999 pure silver in colloidal form, a true silver colloid. Many products are advertised as being colloidal silver, but in fact are mostly ionic silver solutions. A true silver colloid consists mostly of silver particles. Mesosilver has the highest percentage of its silver content in the form of sub-nanometer silver particles, not silver ions.
I know all of that sounds confusing and complex, but it's really not. I find it very, very interesting. There's tons of information on their site about colloidal silver, so if it interests you, too, I highly recommend you visit them and read what's there!
I have distinct memories of seeing images of the Vietnam war on the news when I was a kid. I remember the gunfire, bombs, helicopters, and of course, the soldiers. I also remember feeling quite perplexed and very sad. As we all know, the war raged on for a very long time and the country of Vietnam was ravaged. That, too, was very sad.
But that has all changed now! Have you seen any pictures or video of what Vietnam is like today? It is absolutely beautiful! Stunning, in fact. I can honestly say that it is a place I would definitely love to visit. I think now, finally, Vietnam is rising above the stigma of war, and people are realizing it is one of the most exciting new destinations in South East Asia.
One of the most gorgeous places I'd love to visit is Halong Bay. Oh man! It is breathtakingly beautiful! You really should google pictures of it -- it looks almost mystical. The Halong Bay Hotels are equally as beautiful, too. And have I mentioned how affordable they are? Well they are! I can hardly believe it, actually. Four star hotels with guestrooms for under $100 per night!
The next time you're trying to think of a great place to visit on vacation, remember Vietnam. I don't think you would be sorry.
A heart attack is what always happens to the other person, right? Wrong. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) kills 325,000 people a year - or nearly 900 per day. It could just as easily be you or me as anyone else. Do you know what some of the risk factors for heart attack are? Do you know the symptoms of a heart attack? Risk factors for heart attack which are manageable include:
* Stress
* High blood pressure
* High cholesterol
* Cigarette smoking
* Excess weight
* Drug or alcohol abuse
* High fat diet
* Sedentary lifestyle
Some risk factors cannot be changed. However, the knowledge that they often lead to heart disease may prompt an individual to make healthier lifestyle choices. Some of these factors include:
* Diabetes
* Advancing age
* Congenital heart disorders
* High cholesterol
* High blood pressure
* Previous heart attack or diagnosis of coronary artery disease, heart disease or congestive heart failure
Now here's a little nugget of information which totally caught my eye (since I live in Colorado):
States with a high proportion of cardiac arrests, in descending order, include: Wisconsin, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Connecticut, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Montana and Vermont. Hawaii has the lowest age-adjusted sudden cardiac arrest rate; Mississippi has the highest.
If you would like to know if you are at risk, you can use this great tool provided by St. Jude Medical. It only takes a few minutes and could possibly open your eyes to changes you should make in your life to lower your risk for heart attack.
I was watching The Biography Channel earlier, and caught a very good show about a guy named Greg Ott. After it ended, I was all set to come here to the computer to find out how I could help get him released from prison, only to find that Catherine Crier had succeeded in her efforts to get him paroled back in 2004. Yay! If you're interested in stories like his, I recommend reading the entire thing. Personally speaking, I think he should have been released a looong time ago!
Tech Support: Yes, how can I help you?
Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me though the process?
Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?
Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?
Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?
Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?
Tech Support: What programs are running?
Customer: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.
Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?
Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.
Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?
Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.
Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components." What should I do?
Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.
Customer: So, what should I do?
Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance, then click on the following files: Forgive Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.
Customer: Okay, done.
Tech Support: Now, copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.
Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?
Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.
Customer: Thank you, God.
And thank you to my fantabulous sister for sending this to me! :)
When I began my journey into the non-smoking world, I read somewhere that once you make it past the 12 week mark you've pretty much beaten the habit. Well, it's been almost 13 weeks for me, I have not cheated even once, and I'm here to tell you that what I read is NOT true! I still crave a smoke like you wouldn't believe, and some days it is really tough to keep from going out and buying some. Grrrr! I'm gonna stop believing what I read. *wink*
I have discovered that PMS does not really stand for Premenstrual Syndrome but, rather, Profoundly Miserable Sleep. Between the body aches, leg cramps, headaches and night sweats, it is almost impossible for me to get any decent sleep! And just think, after enjoying all of this for a solid week, I get to look forward to at least 3 days of cramps from hell. Wow! Isn't it a joy being a woman? There really should be an OFF button for when we don't need this anymore!
It's all Eve's fault for eating that stupid apple. ![]()
Hubby and I have always been huge fans of Stevie Nicks. The things she says in this article demonstrate just one of the reasons why she is such a true Lady of class and mystery!
Rock on, Stevie!
