I'm sure many of you don't know that I'm a poet -- albeit a muse-less one at the moment. I've written well over a hundred poems over the last eight or ten years. I went through a rather prolific time five or six years ago, but ever since my mother passed away I've been very blocked when it comes to writing. I think in order for one to write well, one must be in touch with all of their emotions on a very raw level. That's something I have been unable to do since experiencing mom's passing.

I've thought about taking all of my poems and publishing them. I've thought about that many times in fact. Not recently, though. Back when I did think about it, the prospect was rather daunting. Now, however, the internet offers us amazing services such as DIY (do-it-yourself) Online Publishing. Wordclay is one such place where you can publish your own book, and a very good one at that! They are an excellent service and are extremely user-friendly, taking you step-by-step through the process -- everything from planning the size of your book to designing its cover and formatting the interior.

I'm definitely going to think about gathering all of my poems together and giving this a try!

How many of you have heard about the "The Blue Man" fraud? You know, the one where a man supposedly turned blue from taking colloidal silver? Yeah, it never happened. Although the news media has continually said that he was taking colloidal silver, nothing could be further from the truth. The Blue Man story became a major media disinformation event which was produced by a public relations firm and paid for by a pharmaceutical interest. The purpose of this campaign was to scare the public away from using colloidal silver products. The tactic was to claim that the Blue Man's condition was caused by his use of colloidal silver thus implying that anyone who uses colloidal silver would suffer a similar fate. The entire story as presented is a study in blatant misrepresentation. The fact is that Paul has a condition called argyria, which turns the skin a blue-gray color. He got this condition by taking his homemade silver compound that was mostly a highly concentrated ionic silver solution. When he prepared the solution he believed he was making colloidal silver. He was not making colloidal silver. To make the solution even more dangerous, he added salt to the brew and then used electrolysis to make a high concentration of silver chloride with large particles which is well known to cause argyria. He further applied the compound to his skin causing him to become an internal and external photographic plate. To finish himself off, he used a tanning bed to "fix" the silver in his body. The moral of the story is to know the difference between true colloidal silver and ionic silver or silver proteins, and don't try to make either at home! (True colloidal silver cannot be made at home.)

So, just what is colloidal silver? Well, colloidal silver is a liquid suspension of microscopic particles of silver. A colloid is technically defined as particles which remain suspended without forming an ionic, or dissolved solution. The good news about colloidal silver is that it appears to be a powerful, natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. Acting as a catalyst, it reportedly disables the enzyme that one-celled bacteria, viruses and fungi need for their oxygen metabolism. They suffocate without corresponding harm occurring to human enzymes or parts of the human body chemistry. The result is the destruction of disease-causing organisms in the body and in the food.

Mesosilver is the most effective colloidal silver on the market today. It is 0.9999 pure silver in colloidal form, a true silver colloid. Many products are advertised as being colloidal silver, but in fact are mostly ionic silver solutions. A true silver colloid consists mostly of silver particles. Mesosilver has the highest percentage of its silver content in the form of sub-nanometer silver particles, not silver ions.

I know all of that sounds confusing and complex, but it's really not. I find it very, very interesting. There's tons of information on their site about colloidal silver, so if it interests you, too, I highly recommend you visit them and read what's there!

Personalize It!

| | Comments (1)

Well, we all know Mother's Day is Sunday, right? As much as I enjoy my children fawning all over me, I also become sad because my mother is no longer living. I used to love to fawn all over her, too. :)

But there are other holidays and events coming up in the immediate future, as well. Graduation and Father's Day! And of course all of the other gift-giving holidays throughout the year. Call me a sap, but I really love giving Personalized Gifts to my friends and family. There's just something about a personalized gift which tells the recipient that you really put some thought into their gift.

At PersonalizationMall.com you can find all kinds of gifts which can be personalized. And guess what? Personalization is FREE! You don't find that very often. All the stores around here charge per letter! They also ship your order quickly -- usually within 1 to 2 days.

pocket watchThey have this beautiful pocket watch which I would really love to give to my oldest son. He's always loved pocket watches so much, and a lot of the Engineers on the railroad have them. I hate to wait for Christmas, and his birthday has already passed. Maybe I'll just have to give it to him for being such a good son. :) The price is great, too!

Next time you need to buy a gift, remember PersonalizationMall.com!

I have distinct memories of seeing images of the Vietnam war on the news when I was a kid. I remember the gunfire, bombs, helicopters, and of course, the soldiers. I also remember feeling quite perplexed and very sad. As we all know, the war raged on for a very long time and the country of Vietnam was ravaged. That, too, was very sad.

But that has all changed now! Have you seen any pictures or video of what Vietnam is like today? It is absolutely beautiful! Stunning, in fact. I can honestly say that it is a place I would definitely love to visit. I think now, finally, Vietnam is rising above the stigma of war, and people are realizing it is one of the most exciting new destinations in South East Asia.

One of the most gorgeous places I'd love to visit is Halong Bay. Oh man! It is breathtakingly beautiful! You really should google pictures of it -- it looks almost mystical. The Halong Bay Hotels are equally as beautiful, too. And have I mentioned how affordable they are? Well they are! I can hardly believe it, actually. Four star hotels with guestrooms for under $100 per night!

The next time you're trying to think of a great place to visit on vacation, remember Vietnam. I don't think you would be sorry.

When my daughter and I were visiting with my friend and her husband over the weekend, we discussed how far technology has come in such a short time. The conversation came after my first game of bowling with their Wii. Who would have thought, eh?

Well, my mind has been boggled once again. I think a lot of us already realize that IBackup is a leading Online Storage and backup, but guess what they offer now?

IBackup Online Backup and Storage Now you can actually access and share data from your iPhone and other handheld devices! They provide you the flexibility of accessing data stored on your IBackup account with handheld devices such as iPhone, Blackberry, PocketPC and Treo. How great is that? Couple that with the fact that you can get a variety of plans starting with 10 gigs of storage for only $9.95 a month and, well, you can see for yourself what a fantastic deal that is!

Who woulda' thought. :)

Doing Damage Control

| | Comments (0)

Hi, guys. How is your Tuesday going so far? My day got off to kind of a slow start. It's one of those "do it when you feel like it" days. It's cool, though.

I've been doing a lot of work on my web sites lately. As many of you know, I had a "dry spell" for a few months wherein I did very little blogging and really ignored my sites. As a consequence, I've suffered much lower recorded visits and page views. To those of us who have blogs, we know that our sites live and die by the numbers. Months ago my PR fell to a 4, and I'd really like to get my 5 back. So, I've been doing some damage control. I've submitted my blog to the newest ways out there to help increase my traffic and page views, plus I found a great web directory free of charge to which I can submit my blogs. I thought that sounded great, considering most good directories charge in order to get a listing with them.

I could kick myself for allowing things to go downhill so much around here, but I guess at the time my mind and heart just weren't in it. Things like that happen, right? It's like running a race and falling behind, then suddenly catching your second wind and sprinting forward again. I guess you could say I've found my second wind. Finally.

I hope your day is being kind to you. :)

Body Jewelry, Anyone?

| | Comments (0)

On Saturday when my daughter and I were walking through the malls, she was constantly commenting on how cute the guys were who had piercings in their face. LOL She just absolutely loves that. I can't see it personally, but I'm old. LOL I've often wondered, though, where the people who DO have piercings buy their jewelry.

Now I know. Anyone in need of body jewelry can find what they need at Acha Co., Ltd., a wholesale body jewelry manufacturer. And wow, you can get stainless steel, titanium, tungsten, sterling silver and silver! That's pretty cool. People can even get theme jewelry there. That sounds interesting! So if you or someone you know is looking for some great body jewelry, send them there! They'll find what they need at some standout prices!

I love ceiling fans! I always have. I only have two of them in my house right now, but hopefully there will be two more in the next few months as we finish remodeling the room upstairs. I also totally love Outdoor Ceiling Fans! I've always dreamed of having a space outside that completely flows with the rest of the house with a beautiful ceiling fan, completely setting the mood of the room.

There are so many gorgeous Ceiling fans to choose from at CeilingFanWarehouse.com. The outdoor ceiling fans are unbelievable! Did you know they even make outdoor ceiling fans that are U.L. Listed for wet locations? I didn't! They're called, quite appropriately, Wet Ceiling Fans. How cool is that?

While browsing through their web site, I particularly loved checking out the Minka Ceiling Fan. So many styles, and a lot of them with free shipping! I also loved the Tropical Ceiling Fans. They made me think about the bar in "Casablanca". Veeery nice. :) The Hugger style fans are really nice, too, for those rooms that don't have high ceilings. I think there's a ceiling fan to fit everyone's taste and needs there. You should definitely check them out!

Those IRS Peeps are Scary!

| | Comments (0)

Did you get your taxes in on time last month? We always do, but my middle son never does. He inevitably ends up filing an extension and gets them done later. I don't know why he can't just get it done on time, but it doesn't seem to bother him in the least. It's not hard or anything, that's for sure. It's not like he has massive deductions and all kinds of stuff to itemize. His taxes are pretty simple and straightforward and he has a great tax accountant. Oh well, he eventually gets them filed, though, and thankfully doesn't get himself in any bad situations where he must seek IRS tax relief.

Have you ever had the misfortune of being audited? I've always been afraid of IRS tax audits. My poor Mom was audited THREE times! You know why? Because the IRS couldn't believe she supported three kids on what she was claiming she earned. I kid you not. That's the honest to God truth. Can you believe that? I'm just glad there are people out there like the Tax Relief Specialists who can help with all kinds of tax issues, even state income tax help. Knowing there's help out there makes me a tad less scared of those IRS people! ;)

Even the Name is Comforting

| | Comments (3)

Grandfather Clock. Well, to me it is comforting. My grandfather was my hero. But aside from that personal little nugget, consider how majestic they look. Grandfather ClockHave you ever owned one? My sister and her husband had one years ago, and I used to love to just sit there with my eyes closed and listen to its slow, methodical "tick tock, tick tock". It was like listening to a slow piece of relaxing music.

I think I fell in love with the grandfather clock when I was a kid and would go to our old library. They had one sitting front-and-center when you walked in. It actually made sitting there doing research for school or gathering information for a term paper very pleasant. As you can see, I consider a grandfather clock to be much more than just a clock. Not only are they stunning and gorgeous, they're acutally comforting.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I adored John Lennon and still do to this day. I love his music and have watched all of the documentaries about him that I could find. That's why when I found out about the Limited Edition English Laundry John Lennon Shirts I was completely stoked.

This design, along with the Give Peace A Chance design, each only had 350 shirts made worldwide. They are very Limited Edition, licensed, hand sewn shirts from famous shirt maker English Laundry, paying tribute to John Lennon. Of course you already knew that English Laundry is the "wickedly arrogant line of elegant yet street savvy mens shirts designed by the incredibly charming Christopher Wicks of Manchester, England", right? Seriously, people, the line totally is arrogant and unbelievably cool! Go check out all their designs!

Build Your Own!

| | Comments (0)

I think I need a new computer. This one is 4 years old, and even though that doesn't sound like a lot of years, you know how quickly 'puters become obsolete. At the very least I need to upgrade my RAM and processor. Did you know that you could save hundred of dollars by doing it yourself? Yep, I said do it yourself. You can buy Computer Kits at Easy As My PC and actually build your own! The kits include everything you need. They include plain English instructions with lots of illustrations. You can also get upgrade kits to increase your RAM or replace your CPU. All you need is a screwdriver!

Sounds interesting to me! I think it would be way cool to do it myself and then brag about it to my family and friends. LOL Plus I'm all for saving hundreds of dollars, that's for sure! But then, aren't we all? :)

Teak a Look at This!

| | Comments (0)

I was watching Oprah the other day when Nate, her interior designer, was on. At one point in the show he and Oprah were sitting in a gorgeous "outdoor living room". That's all the rage now, you know -- outdoor space made to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the home. It was SO beautiful! They were talking about teak furniture. Now, I've never been lucky enough to own any myself -- but someday I will. ;)

Here's a little FYI knowledge for you: Teakwood or Golden Teak is the king of hardwoods and it's one of the world's most valuable timbers, recognized for its durability and stability. Teak is more durable than any other hardwood and has unparalleled rich beauty. Teak can withstand all types of weather. Due to the oil and rubber found naturally in the wood, teak has a greater ability to withstand the elements than any other wood. For this reason it has been the preferred choice for boats, and in fact, has been used on aircraft carrier decks! This is because of its ability to resist splintering, warping and rotting. If left un-oiled, teak will turn a soft gray when allowed to remain outdoors. This process takes approximately one year, and is actually a desired effect.

So, after learning all of that, I went looking and found some beautiful teak tables online. The Adirondack Chairs and Loungers and Steamers are completely gorgeous! I can envision a couple of those loungers out on my deck right now, not to mention that 4-foot glider they have! Yep, one of these days .... ;)

Bust That Ticket!

| | Comments (1)

I don't know what it's like where you live, but here in my small town most of the cops are, shall we say, overly self-impressed. Most of them are little men with big badges who get their jollies by having authority over others. Oh sure, there are a few good ones, but most of them are .... annoying (except, of course, my son's high school buddy who just joined the force a few months ago. *wink*).

A lot of them drive around town breaking laws as simple as using their blinker when they change lanes or turn the corner, but will have the nerve to stop us for the same thing and hand us a fifty dollar ticket! My son even pointed that out to a cop once when he noticed he hadn't signaled, and oh boy, he did NOT like that at all. LOL There's no use in trying to fight the ticket in court, either, because the small town judges believe the cops every.single.time.

Some people are luckier than others, though. Some people can go to TicketBust.com, who offers traffic ticket fighting services, and they'll go to bat for them to Beat a Speeding Ticket in California! In fact, they're so confident they can get a ticket dismissed or reduced that they offer a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! That's amazing, don't you think? But don't worry, as stated on their site:

Ticket Busters (TicketBust.com) does not sell or endorse services that promote the evading of traffic tickets. Our "Beat Traffic Tickets" service is only available in California and adheres to the laws of the State of California. Our filing service will not help you evade a ticket.

That's awesome. I wish Colorado had a Ticket Busters. Hmmm, maybe every state should have one! Yeah, now that would be very cool. :)
