Did you guys know that Celine Dion is about finished with her giant, famous show in Las Vegas? Yeah, and guess who's going to be performing next at Caesars Palace? Cher! That's right boys and girls, Cher will be replacing Celine at the Palace! I am so excited! I love Cher, but I think Hubs loves her even more! LOL
Do you remember watching her on the Sonny and Cher Show? I totally loved that show! My mom would watch it every week, so of course my sisters and I did, too. I thought she was so funny! And I loved listening to her sing. I even remember when their daughter, Chastity, was born. After she got a little older, they'd bring her out on stage at the end of the show and hold her while they sang their famous closing song, "I've Got You Babe". She was such a little cutie!
After she and Sonny divorced, she sure carved out a great solo career for herself, didn't she! I thought "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" was the coolest song ever back then. I can even remember her marriage to Gregg Allman (wow, I'm really dating myself here LOL). I have no idea of whatever became of their son, Elijah. I haven't heard anything about him in ages and ages. And oh wow, her performance in the movie "Mask" was amazing! I've seen that movie at least ten or twelve times and it makes me cry every time. She was truly phenomenal.
I'll never forget watching Cher speak at Sonny's funeral after he died in that horrible skiing accident. You could tell they had enjoyed a very close and loving relationship and friendship after their divorce. It was so sad.
So anyway, she'll begin performing at Caesars next month! And guess what? She'll be 62 years old on May 20th! Man oh man, I can only dream of being that energetic and ambitious at her age! LOL All I can say is more power to her! She's a remarkable woman and I can hardly wait to buy my Cher tickets at Caesar's Palace Las Vegas and go see her perform!
Well, I think I've managed to slowly come back to life. LOL Feeling more like myself now, whatever that means.
So how goes it with you guys? Anything new I don't know about that I should know about?
C'mon people, you know I love gossip! LOL
Speaking of gossip, did you hear about Nicole Richie finally admitting she's pregnant? Like, yeah girl, we already knew that. LOL She's four months along, and announced it in an interview with Diane Sawyer. It's going to be on 20/20 tomorrow night. I think I might just watch it. You know, see if she's handling her impending incarceration better than her "simple" friend, Paris. I certainly hope so! She's got a precious little person on board now, so I sure hope she straightens herself up!
It's aliiive! It's aliiive! Justice is actually alive in L.A.!!!
Paris Hilton has been sent back to jail! As reported by CNN:
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted out of a courtroom and back to jail Friday after a judge ruled that she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home."It's not right!" shouted the weeping Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.
Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping, hair askew, sans makeup, wearing a gray fuzzy sweatshirt over slacks.
She cried throughout the hearing, her body shook constantly and she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents, seated behind her in the courtroom, and mouthed, "I love you."
Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the morning's developments. He said he had left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing.
When he got in his car early Friday, he said, he heard a radio report that he had approved Hilton's participation in the hearing by telephone, but he had not.
"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days.
"At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road," Sauer said.
Assistant City Attorney Dan F. Jeffries argued that Hilton should be returned to jail, and said that was purely the judge's decision to make. "Her release after only three days erodes confidence in the judicial system," Jeffries said.
Hilton's attorney, Richard Hutton, implored the judge to order a hearing in his chambers at which he would hear testimony about Hilton's medical condition before making a decision.
The judge did not respond to that suggestion.
Another of her attorneys, Steve Levine, said, "The sheriff has determined that because of her medical situation, this (jail) is a dangerous place for her."
"The court's role here is to let the Sheriff's Department run the jail," he said.
A former district attorney, Robert Philibosian, also represented Hilton. He said that the law supports the sheriff in making an independent decision on her custodial situation.
The judge interrupted several times to say that he had received a call last Wednesday from an undersheriff informing him that Hilton had a medical condition and that he would submit papers to the judge to consider. He said the papers never arrived.
Every few minutes, the judge would interrupt proceedings and state the time on the clock and note that the papers still had not arrived.
He also noted that he had heard that a private psychiatrist visited Hilton in jail and he wondered if that person played a role in deciding her medical needs.
.... The decision by Sheriff Lee Baca to move Hilton chafed prosecutors and Judge Sauer, who spelled out during sentencing that Hilton was not allowed to serve house detention.
Late Thursday, Sauer issued the order for Hilton to return to court after the city attorney filed a petition demanding that Hilton be returned to jail and to show cause why Baca shouldn't be held in contempt of court.
Baca does not have to be in court, and it was unclear who would represent the Sheriff's Department.
The move also was met with outrage from the sheriff's deputies union, members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, civil rights leaders, defense attorneys and others.
"What transpired here is outrageous," county Supervisor Don Knabe told The Associated Press, adding he received more than 400 angry e-mails and hundreds more phone calls from around the country.
.... California Attorney General Jerry Brown criticized the Sheriff's Department for letting Hilton out of jail, saying he believed she should serve out her sentence.
"It does hold up the system to ridicule when the powerful and the famous get special treatment," Brown told The Associated Press in an interview before testifying at a congressional hearing in Washington.
"I'm sure there's a lot of people who've seen their family members go to jail and have various ailments, physical and psychological, that didn't get them released," he said. "I'd say it's time for a course correction."

RIGHT ON!! This is great news for justice in L.A. (which is a term used very loosely in that part of the country). Examining the issue more deeply, though, I join hundreds of thousand of others who believe this whole Paris Hilton fiasco has severely damaged the view of the judicial system in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area of California -- if not in actuality, then most definitely in perception. The good news is that all of this ridiculousness being played out in front of the world may just improve the equity with which California hands down justice among the "normal" and celebrity. Well, we can all hope, anyway.
Paris Hilton Goes Back to Jail, Paris Hilton, L.A. County Justice
May I have your attention please! Listen up - especially you lady inmates at the L.A. County Jail! This is very important breaking news!
ALL INMATES INCARCERATED AT THE L.A. COUNTY WOMEN'S JAIL CAN NOW GO HOME EARLY IF YOU'RE FEELING MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY STRESSED! SIMPLY INFORM JAIL DOCTORS - OR BETTER YET, HAVE YOUR FAMILY SEND IN YOUR OWN SHRINK - AND HAVE THEM DEEM YOU AS BEING CLOSE TO A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, THEN YOU CAN LEAVE WITH A PRETTY NEW ANKLE BRACELET AND GO HOME TO FINISH OUT YOUR SENTENCE!!
That's right, folks, it's all true! Of course, it helps tremendously if you're a rich bitch like Paris Hilton!!
Three days??? She only lasted three days??? What a WUSS!!! Not only does she have no talent and no brain and NO self-restraint, but she has no backbone, either!! I would stake my life on the fact that money changed hands for this to happen! I'm thinking the L.A. County Attorney may agree with me:
... I am also concerned that the judicial process may have been improperly circumvented in this case. Ms. Hilton was incarcerated as a condition of her probation. As a result, the judge retained jurisdiction over her case and only the judge has the power to modify these conditions of probation. If Ms. Hilton's medical condition truly warranted a change in her circumstances, what should have happened is the following: Ms. Hilton's legal counsel should have filed an emergency application with the court and provided my office with the opportunity to respond, and then the court could have held a hearing on the matter to consider whether there was sufficient justification to change the terms of his original order.I have directed my criminal branch to immediately explore all possible legal options to ensure that the law is being applied equally and justly in this case.
If law enforcement officials are to enjoy the respect of those we are charged with protecting, we cannot tolerate a two-tiered jail system where the rich and powerful receive special treatment. We must ensure that in our city, in our nation, and under our Constitution, justice remains blind."
Right on, dude! Now get her ass back in jail where it belongs!!!!! I'm going to go puke now. And then maybe hit a big pillow really hard a few times. One with Paris' face on it.
Have you guys heard about what Alec Baldwin did? Oh man! I always had a feeling he could be really nasty, and now we have proof! Apparently he was very upset that his 11 year old daughter, Ireland, had missed a planned phone call from him, so he left a hateful message for her.
"You are a rude, thoughtless little pig.""You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says.
"I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone."
He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue."
But wait, that's not all! Listen to the whole message here, and then tell me you don't think he sounds threatening! If I were Kim Basinger, I'd have an order of protection in place so fast it would make his head spin!
What an ASS!! No wonder she divorced him! He's telling his daughter SHE doesn't have decency as a human being??? Um, no, look in the mirror, Alec!!! SHAME ON YOU!!
Geeeez, can you say CONTROL FREAK??? And uh, oh let's see, maybeee .... OVERREACT!! Crazy bastard.
UPDATE:
TMZ is reporting that on Wednesday, Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner Maren Nelson heard the tape and temporarily suspended Baldwin's visitation rights. A hearing is set for May 4, where the judge could permanently deny Baldwin visitation or contact with Ireland.
