Yes, I'm Still Alive
OK, first of all let me apologize for pulling such a disappearing act on ya'll. I certainly didn't do it on purpose. So many things have pulled me in so many different directions lately -- most of them good, some of them not so good. The main thing is that I've been engaging in "real life" MUCH more than I have in years! Not only has it kept me away from the computer a great deal, but it has felt GREAT.
Also, the new program my daughter and I are using for her homeschooling this year -- which we both love, by the way -- requires a lot more hands-on time from me, and more book time for her. It's been a wonderful experience so far, though. :)
I've been doing fun stuff with my daughter, too, like shopping, taking in movies, getting our hair done, walking in the park, etc. It's been a blast. We went to see "Heartbreak Kid" with Ben Stiller on Monday night. She loved it; I thought it was moderately good. Ben Stiller is always funny, though, no matter what he's in. Last week we both had our hair trimmed and colored (highlights and shadows). I love doing that. New hair is always such a great thing. LOL
On Tuesday we went to see my wonderfully perfect grandbaby. Oh man, what a character he is! We had SO much fun! He's going to be a pirate for Halloween, which is a surprise since he's been obsessed with Spiderman for so long and said he wanted to be him. My DIL had already purchased him a Spiderman costume and everything! LOL Suddenly, though, he wants to be a one-eyed pirate. ;)
I guess those of you who follow baseball know that our Colorado Rockies are in the World Series!! I am SO EXCITED!!! It's been such a Cinderella story this season! Not only did they make it to the World Series, but they made all kinds of history getting there, such as the most consecutive wins in a season and the first team to ever sweep both teams in the playoff series. My oldest son is going to go to one of the games in Denver. Lucky duck!!!! He's promised to bring me back a souvenir, so it's all good. :)
All three of my kids are going to be at the Sunday night game in Denver between the Broncos and the Steelers. Again, lucky ducks!! LOL My sons surprised my daughter by buying her a ticket (isn't that sweet?), and she is SO EXCITED! Of course, as luck would have it, it's supposed to be wet and verrry cold Sunday night in Denver, so they'll have to pile on the layers, but what's a football game without the cold? ;) I remember sitting through fuh-reezing weather to watch my sons play. When my son David was a senior they made it to the playoffs and their first game was in Woodland Park (in the mountains), where our asses proceeded to literally freeze to the bleachers! I'm not kidding. It wasn't a good thing. LOL But it was worth it when Dave made the biggest, hardest, most awesome hit in his entire High School football career that day! ;)
Again, you guys, I'm sorry for being silent for so long. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of you who left comments and/or sent emails asking if everything was OK. I love you for it. :)
(P.S. In honor of my Canadian friends, the theme now displaying is the Toronto skyline. *smile*)

Well, all good magicians do great disappearing acts...so we must be among the top best, right?
I am having a REALLY hard time getting back to bloggin, and visiting my fav's...your my first for today.
{{{HUGS}}}
Welcome back! You've truly been missed but I can see you've been very busy! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time at the same time, great to hear it!
Congrats to the Rockies, very exciting news (if you're a Rockies fan! LOL). It's fun when your team makes it that far. I remember when the White Sox went all the way, now that was a great year in baseball! :-D
That is gonna be some COOOLLLLD world Series!! I was rooting for them too. Our Mariners lost it half way through the season, so We just wanted someone that deserved it to win.
ONwebCHECK -- Thank you! :)
Susan -- Don't we usually end up doing just about the same things at just about the same times? LOL Thank you for visiting me first today; I am honored. {{{Hugs}}}
Lynne -- Aww, thank you! It feels good knowing I was missed. I just hope I didn't worry anyone. Yep, I've been having a pretty good time! :) Um, I hate to disagree with you and all, but actually it's THIS year which is a great year in baseball! ;) LOL
Mary Lou -- You are SO right! It's going to be a very cold World Series! Snow is in the forecast next weekend, just 3 days after the Series has begun. That should be right when they come to Denver to play. My son better put on about a hundred layers! LOL I'm glad you're rooting for the Rockies now. You are totally right in that they deserve it! :)
Good for you, Leigh. :) Life...ya' gotta' be in it, hey. ;)
Guess what?? We spent a night (last night-Fri) in a 5 star Hotel (the Sofitel) in Melbourne. With valet parking, and all. Yep, you heard it right! lol Just the two of us in a gorgeous room on the 46th floor in one of Melbourne's finest hotels, with amazing views of the city all around us! It was especially beautiful and breathtaking at night! :))
For the first time in almost 21 years (since having the kids) we were (finally) "really alone!" ;) OMG! What a TREAT!! :))
I gotta' tell ya' Leigh. It felt sooo surreal. lol The first thing I did when we walked through that door was kick off my shoes and jump onto that big arse (king size) bed!! lol
The night was all thanks to Randall's boss. Just the six of us ( 3 couples) spent the night wining and dining in the most incredible (italian) restaurant I have ever seen!!! And the service...OMG! It was second to none!
I think we all felt pretty special as we strolled to and from the restaurant (1 block away from the Sofitel) in our beautiful clothes! lol
We checked out at 11am this morning after enjoying a yummy buffet breakfast on the 35th floor.
Jeff (the boss) wanted to make the last Christmas get-together a memorable and GOOD one! Well, he certainly succeeded! We had the time of our lives! :)))
Early for Christmas, I know. But, it was now or never. I can't believe a place (pricey) like the Sofitel can fill its rooms so damn fast! lol
Thanks to Jeff and Jan we got to see and experience just how the other half live! hehe
Sitting here now...I'm thinking- did we actually do all that?! lol Like I said, SURREAL!! ;)
Debbie, that sounds absolutely awesome!!! I'm so happy you guys got to do that!! When either you or I win the lottery, that's how we'll be rollin' all the time!! LOL!
Glad you're back, Leigh! Are you going to post some pictures? I haven't seen the Rockies in a while.
