Help is a Click Away

I am fortunate to have never been physically or sexually abused, but there are scores of women who have. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to reach out for help while in that situation. The guilt and shame -- which should NOT be owned by the woman -- and fear of her partner keep her from getting out and getting the help she needs. In that vein, I'd like to share some excellent resources online for women who find themselves needing help. At Support Network for Battered Women, you can find help in many different areas, such as:

Teen Issues
Home Safe
Domestic Violence Agency Referrals
Domestic Violence Statistics
Current Articles and Publications
Domestic Violence FAQ

There is so much more in addition to those mentioned above. The Domestic Violence FAQ page is a treasure trove of information.

Please remember that your partner, if internet savvy, can trace where you've been online. It is best if you can use a computer at a friend's house or your local library.
