Sons and Sisters
I think I have the flu or something. The intestinal flu, if you catch my drift.
I feel pretty shitty (no pun intended). I don't know, maybe it's just anxiety or something.
You know that dream I told you about? The nightmare about my son? Well, my other son - the oldest - called this morning and asked if I'd spoken to David. No, I hadn't. "Why?", I asked. "Because his train derailed last night", he answered. WHAT!!! Yeah, turns out they were stopped near a town called Hudson on a train known as a Local, which everyone hates to get. Anyway, Dave was out walking the train, came over a hill and saw 5 cars lying on their side on the ground. Ryan said "Thank God he wasn't walking by them when they fell". Um, YEAH! Flashbacks of my dream went flying through my mind. Then I shuddered. Can you say anxiety?
Talked to my Sis this morning, too. She's in the hospital, remember? Yeah, well, she said they were going to discharge her today, but now she's not sure because they came in and did another ultrasound of her thyroid, this time with the Radiology doctor herself watching. Since she's in there for pneumonia, I asked her why they were testing her thyroid. I guess when the E.R. doc was examining her, he thought it felt enlarged. So anyway, when they finished she (the doctor) told my sister that she thought she saw a couple nodules on her thyroid. WHAT!! Sis said that in a way, seeing a couple was a good thing, as the doctor explained that more than one generally means nonmalignant. So now she's not sure if she's going home today or not. They may want to keep her longer so they can do further testing, as in biopsy. Can you say anxiety?
So yeah, flu or anxiety - take your pick.
Flu, Pneumonia, Thyroid Disease, Ultrasound, Train Derailments
