Russian Artist Makes American Debut

Those of you who have been visiting me for a while know that I'm an artist, and very passionate about good art and the people who create it. That's why I am excited to introduce you to Russian Artist Victor Lysakov.

Russian Artist Victor Lysakov

You will notice, when you view his gallery, that he uses a very vibrant palette, which I find extremely appealing. His expressionist style reminds me very much of the works of Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali (a few of my favorite artists), particularly his paintings done in Traditional Motif. His pieces are not completely subjective, though, as he includes a story with every painting, allowing us to peek inside the thoughts, feelings, events and emotions behind its birth. His subjects are "strange" and "weird", to be sure, but in my opinion, what that strangeness evokes in the viewer is an added bonus. As Victor Lysakov says, "New or seasoned, trusting or suspicious, frightened or fearless – I challenge you to grow bored with my paintings". Indeed.

I find his work extremely varied in subject, but very consistent in style. It is a pleasure to view, and draws you in the longer you look. I would absolutely love to see this artist's paintings in person! It is very exciting to have him showing in the United States!
