MSNBC drops Imus for 2 weeks amid Rutgers flap.
NEW YORK -- MSNBC will suspend its television simulcast of radio shock-jock Don Imus' morning talk show for two weeks after the host called members of the Rutgers University women's basketball team "a bunch of nappy-headed hos," the network announced Monday.Despite apologies from Imus on Friday and Monday, the suspension will start April 16, the network said in a written statement.
"Don Imus has expressed profound regret and embarrassment and has made a commitment to listen to all of those who have raised legitimate expressions of outrage," it said.
"In addition, his dedication -- in his words -- to change the discourse on his program moving forward, has confirmed for us that this action is appropriate. Our future relationship with Imus is contingent on his ability to live up to his word."

Hmmm .... well, I guess we'll see. Would Imus still be Imus if he changes the discourse on his program? Don't get me wrong, I think she should change it - he's getting worse, or maybe just stupid, with age. I know how that goes. ;) What he said, though, was completely shocking. I don't know that one can claim "mistake" for something like that. Do you control what comes out of your mouth or not? Plus, what his tech guy said was just as bad. I'm not sure two weeks is enough. It wouldn't surprise me if, given the way people in entertainment are doing things these days, he announces he's going into rehab. LOL Isn't that what the actor from Grey's Anatomy did? After he made a hateful homophobic remark to his gay colleague? Idiots. I've never heard of rehabs for stupid people. Even though we need them badly!! ;)

I hear that Imus had only 300,000 listeners. I was surprised because he's been around so long. I think he deserves BIG trouble from this from his show's owners, but I really don't like Sharpton and Jackson calling Imus to the high alter of White guilt because they are both bigots and racists.
Thanks for coming by my place
