Vanilla Vegas? No, That's Not Right ....

I know I'm a little late coming to the table, but we just finished watching Vanilla Sky (with Tom Cruise, before he became weird, and Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz), and I really liked it! I totally love movies with lots of twists and turns in them, and this had plenty of those! ANYway, if you've seen it, what did you think?

My son David is in Las Vegas again. This time he went with a whole bunch of his buddies. Last time he uh, shall we say, "overdid" it a bit? LOL This time he says he wants to do Vegas "right", and go to nice restaurants and see a couple of good shows and stuff like that. He said he had his fill of doing nothing but sitting in casinos gambling all day and night. LOL This time they're staying at the Flamingo Hotel. He'll be back Wednesday night. Hey, maybe since he's not going to be gambling so hard this time, he'll actually win some money (and give it all to ME!!!!).

Thoughts from others

Ever been in a casino? One of the saddest places on Earth, except maybe for an old-folks home.

Nope, never been in a casino. Spent a lot of time in nursing homes, though. Can't imagine any place ever being as sad as that.

Casinos are just kinda scary because of the glazed look in peoples' eyes -- especially at the slots.

I know I didn't imagine this, because other people have since told me about That Look.

Oh I'm sure you're telling it like it is! I have no doubt. Let's just say the mention of nursing homes hit a raw nerve I have right now, but you didn't know that. :)

Sometimes I think if I had the time and money, I might be one of those people who ends up sitting in front of one of those machines for hours and hours. Especially if it hit every now and then. I'd probably be like, "Come on, baby! The next one's gonna be the BIG one!" LOL

Since I have an addictive personality, I would have to agree. "Just one more..."

;-)

As for nursing homes... argh. Let's not get started on THAT!

Well, why not. Write a post and we'll rant.
