Thoughtprints: Birthday Fun!

I had such a great birthday yesterday! Both of my sons came over bearing gifts and wonderful cards, including one from my adorable grandson who had "written" in it himself. It was so cute! He even drew me a picture of a flower on it! The most beautiful two-line flower I've ever seen, I tell ya'! Then my daughter, who had asked to go to her best friend's house earlier in the day, walked in with both her friend AND a homemade cake adorned with 24 candles (thank you, girls! ), beautiful handmade cards from each of them, and singing Happy Birthday! I don't think I could've possibly smiled any bigger!

I also got to talk to my daughter-in-law, who called on the phone, and she let my grandson say "Happy Birthday" (as well as he could, anyway *big grin*) and "I love you" to me! Man, that made my heart swell big time! I talked with both of my sisters, as well as my oldest friend, whom I've known since I was just 2 years old. We had long, lovely visits. :)

I gotta tell ya', though, the funniest part of the day came when we discovered Callie and Tesla (daughter's best friend; my 2nd daughter *wink*) had forgotten to buy trash bags when they went to the store, which is the primary reason they had gone in the first place! Hubs asked if the grocery store just a few blocks from here carried the size we needed, which is 33 gallon. I told him I thought they didn't, saying I was sure the biggest they carried was 30 gallon. Well, he decided he should just call them and find out for himself, so he looked the number up in the phone book (keep in mind here that the name of the store is Sun Mart):

Hubs: Do you have some 33 gallon trash bags?

Other person: I have some pretty big white ones here.

Hubs: 39s or what?

Other person: What are you looking for?

Hubs: I wanted 33s. I'll just send somebody down to see what you've got.

Other person: Who are you trying to call? This is the Best Western (aka Sundowner).

Hubs: Oh, I was trying to get the grocery store.

OMG, it was SOOO funny!! I can't believe she carried on a conversation for that long about trash bags before asking him who he was trying to call!! Not to mention Hubs turned a lovely shade of red after he hung up and we were all splitting a gut!! Whoooo, good times! LOL
