Reflex What?

Have I ever told you guys how much ahead of her time my Grandmother was? Oh yeah, she was into the whole holistic medicine thing waaaay before it was "fashionable" to be. She knew every single vitamin, mineral and herb a person should take to stay healthy, and exactly what to do if you were sick. One thing she would always do when we were sick was come over and rub our feet. Rub your feet, you ask? Yep. It's called Reflexology.

.... the foot is divided into a number of zones that correspond to various organs of the body. And therefore if appropriate areas are massaged in the proper proportions using the expertise of the reflexologist the self healing process is mobilized that relieves pain.

She would rub along the bottom of our toes, right at the very top of the ball of the foot, and tell us that it would relieve sinus pain/congestion. And you know what? It worked! Somewhere around the middle of the foot was the heart, I think. She knew each and every zone and what it was for. As I said, she was way ahead of her time. I've always been very proud of her for that. :)

She was also very, very business savvy. Anytime we were thinking of making a big purchase, like when we bought a house, she wanted to see the contract first so she could help advise us. Especially when we bought our current house. We purchased it from the owners, so she of course was telling us everything to watch out for so we wouldn't get cheated. Yeah, sometimes she was a little pushy (right, sisters? *wink*) being the true matriarch of our family, but most of the time, even if we didn't see it until much later, she was right. I really miss her and her wisdom a lot. How blessed was I to have a grandma like that, eh? :)

Thoughts from others

I had a mennonite lady who used to do reflexology on me. It ws fantastic!!!

Your Grandma sounds like she was a spitfire!

Very blessed!

Is this your first PPP?

Terry, yep, first one. :)

I would have LOVED to have had a grandma just like yours. :) I never got to know either of mine. One died when I was only 3, the other (Dad's mum) died about 3 years before I was even born. :(

You know me...little miss health and fitness!;)
And foot massages...OMG! I love 'em. Pity Randall didn't love 'em as much as me. lol
Imagine getting a foot massage EVERY single day. Oh yeah! lol Pure Heaven!!

Your grandma rocked, my friend! :))) BIG time!

Sister Kelly says WAY TO GO little sister! Yup, you are surely right about our dear Grandmother, wise beyond her years she was, and we always just thought she was a little "nutty"! Shame on us! Now we know differently! Loved your post Sis!
