In the Thousands
Guess what? This entry is number 1,000. That's kinda' cool, eh? And a few days ago my dear friend, Debbie, posted comment number 5,000! Now that's very cool, don'tcha think? :)
Email problems are all fixed. Yay! I finally hooked up with a live online operator for my webhost and told him what was going on. A few hours later, voila! All fixed!
So, what's happening in your world? Nothin' much here. Oh, except one of my parakeets fell over dead the other day. I have no idea why. Hubs found it lying face-down on the bottom of the birdcage. It was alive the day before, so it must've happened during the night. I think it died from a heart attack after being scared by our dog Sage (actually, she's my daughter's dog, a Cocker Spaniel). Sage loves to sneak up on the birdcage and then jump up and scare them. I think she finally scared the smaller one to death! Makes me so mad when she does that.
No snow since 3 days ago when we got about 3 more inches. Nothing is melting much since the temps rarely get above freezing. There's still at least a good foot of snow on the ground. What's it like where you are? I've been reading a lot lately about how strange the weather has been. I know that it's really weird for us to get this much snow in such a short amount of time, especially considering how dry winters have been for us the last 10 years or so.
So what do you think about this whole Trump/O'Donnell feud thing? I think it is SO STUPID! Can you say IMMATURE? My gawd, grow up people! And now there's an internet game you can play called Rosie vs. Trump. Hysterical! I say if they're going to act like babies, make fun of them! LOL! My own children would never get away with acting like that, and here they are, allegedly grown-ups, acting like schoolyard bullies in front of the WORLD! Yeah, way to be role models, you guys. Geez! Both of you go to a corner, put your nose against the wall, take a timeout and think about what you've done! Then maybe you should go to bed without supper. Big babies.
My dogs are all so adorable - and beautiful - and smart. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
Oh man, isn't it just immensely tragic about Darrent Williams? I watched a tiny bit of the funeral yesterday, but couldn't stand the heartache so turned the channel. Every time I see another news report about him, I cry. How senseless life can be! He was such a wonderful young man, with such a bright future, and then it's snuffed out by an idiot with a gun and no respect for human life whatsoever. It's just incomprehensible. I so hope they catch the scum who did it and put him away for the rest of his sorry life. Maybe he'll get what's coming to him in prison!
Well, I guess that's all that's on my mind right now. I bet you're glad. LOL Ya'll have a great Sunday!
Thoughts from others
Looks like our forecasters might be right about all the rain that's on its way. ;)
You're finally (after approx.10 yrs) getting a whole heapa' snow; Australia's eleven year drought will end if we get all the rainfall they're predicting for 2007. :)))
It'll be interesting.
sorry to hear about your birdie, Leigh. :(

And, if you can spare the time, email me on how I can contact you by phone about my new site problems. If you think you can help, I'd appreciate it.

Terry, I would move the birdcage up in a heartbeat, except I can't. Not only are my ceilings way too high to have a hanging one, but the cage itself sits inside a ... hmmm, I don't know what to call it ... it "holds" the cage and is on wheels so it can be moved easily. I tried to get the highest one I could because of my dogs, but Sage is clever enough to figure out ways to get closer and higher up. Actually, she's stopped her antics now. I guess she got in trouble enough that she finally learned her lesson. Unfortunately, it may have cost me one parakeet. I still don't know for sure what killed her. I feel very sorry for the one left; she seems lonely (or maybe I just expect her to be). She doesn't sing as much, that's for sure. I may have to go down and buy her a new friend. :)

This has been one weird winter with all this snow. They finally got our school district back open yesterday and now here comes more snow.
As for the Trump/Rosie thing, the cynical side of me says they're both pushing it because it's all publicity. The Apprentice and The View won't mind any extra viewers this might drum up. The old saying is, "any publicity is good publicity," after all. And it's working, they're both still in the news because people are listening...
