Friday Night Memories
Friday Night Lights starts tonight. I'm totally looking forward to it. One of the very best times in my life was when my son David played varsity football (he made All-Conference his Senior year. I just had to brag a little. lol). Those Friday nights were soooo much fun! :)
I've decided to take the plunge and homeschool my daughter. She's been begging me since the summer, but I was hesitant - until this school year began, that is. Suffice it to say that some of the teachers at the Middle School do not foster respect - for themselves or for other students. It's just not right. And it's distracting to my daughter's education. I sure admire her, though. Even though she hates the atmosphere, she still strives to do her best and is doing very well. I'm sure the homeschooling will go just as well. I did TONS of research, learning the Colorado statute regarding homeschooling and looking at all kinds of different methods and programs. Last night she and I finally settled on the one we want to use. I should have all the paperwork and stuff done by the end of the week, and then we can begin next week! Needless to say, she is VERY excited! And considering what's been happening of late in some of our nation's schools, I will feel much more at ease having her at home. As the saying goes, there's no place like home. :)
Update on my sister: She's doing better, but is still far from 100%. The medication they have her on is making her almost as sick as the pneumonia! She sees the Doc again tomorrow, so hopefully she will change her medication. I also told her she should get tested for West Nile, as so many of her symptoms are just like David's when he had West Nile. Also, my daughter-in-law's mother is recovering from West Nile right now, but initially they diagnosed her with pneumonia. So, who knows. I will just feel better if they test her, not that they can really do anything different than they're already doing, but at least if she has it they'll know and can be on the alert for other stuff that can happen with West Nile.
Well, supper's ready and the show starts in 15, so gotta run. Have yourself a great night!
