Soapbox Derby
Well, again, it's been a long time. I don't know what's been up with me lately, not posting here for long periods of time and all. Just ... not feeling "talkative" I guess. ANYway, I figured since it's almost that time, an Autumn layout was in order. It's been feeling like Fall here for the past couple of weeks. Today was more like Summer again, with mid-80s, but it gets pretty darn chilly at night. Gonna be cold come Friday, so I'm getting ready for socks, sweaters and crankin' up the heat!
So, what's new? Same old, same old 'round here. School has started, which my daughter is NOT happy about at all. lol She's right, though, Summer went waaay too fast! Frankly, I wasn't ready for her to go back to school, either. What can I say - I like having my girl around. :)
Well, it happened. My grandson had a bleed in his knee and had to go get his first factor infusion the other day. It was inevitable, considering he's a non-stop whirlwind of energy! I'm actually surprised it didn't happen sooner. Anyway, it went very well, considering. My DIL said he coped with it nicely, and it went quickly. Next morning he was as good as new. Yay! :) My son was away working at the time, so he missed it. I'm kinda' glad, as he has a tendency to freak over stuff concerning Brayden and his health. I think with this first episode under their belts, it might ease their anxiety a bit. I sure hope so. They have enough to deal with right now, with getting everything ready to move into their new home and Ryan going through Engineer training at the same time. Can you say STRESS?? lol
Did any of you watch Path to 9/11? I gotta' tell ya', watching that really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I had no idea so many things had happened prior to 9/11 - things that the government could have stopped, if they'd had the balls to. Everyone has to pass the buck, don't they. No one wants to take responsibility for anything anymore, especially if it's going to send negative political fallout their way. It's sickening! Seems to me all those lives could have quite possibly been spared on 9/11 had the US government gone forward with taking out Osama years ago when they had the chance, and by helping Massoud and the Northern Alliance fight the Taliban when he begged them to. Pitiful. Simply pitiful. If only they had listened to John O'Neill when he tried telling them all. And how tragically ironic is it that he ended up dying in the WTC attacks? I don't know .... the whole thing makes me sick. You can watch the movie in its entirety at the site I linked to above. It'll take close to 5 hours, so be sure you have the time. If you watch, let me know what you think about it, k? There seems to be quite the debate going on about it on their blog. You should check that out, too, but again, it takes time cuz LOTS of people wanna put their 2 cents in (me included). Okay, I'll stop now.
*stepping off my soapbox*
Guess I better go make dinner. ;)
(((Hugs))) to all!
