A Little Here, A Little There

Hey. :) Well, believe it or not, there is STILL no news about Brayden's tests. They sent the blood to the Mayo Clinic (even though my son and his wife asked them to send it to the doctor in Denver [2 hours away] who takes care of her brother, who has hemophelia), who in turn said they couldn't test for that kind of hemophelia, so sent it California. CALIFORNIA! When my son and DIL asked why they didn't just send it to Denver like they asked in the first place, they were told it was because "we don't have a contract with that hospital". Oh. My. God! Well for heaven's sake, don't have a contract with a hospital only 2 hours away! Oh nooo! ONLY have contracts with hospitals clear across the country!!! Idiots! So we're still waiting!

In the meantime, the little dickens has become quite proficient at walking! I haven't seen him since his birthday, so I haven't witnessed his "taking of corners like a pro" first-hand yet, but I sure am anxious to!

Ummmm .... let's see .... not much else going on around here. Daughter's in school, Hubby's workin' the job, and my doggies keep me company. I sure do love those furry babies of mine! Even though they can be huge brats sometimes!!

You can sure feel Fall in the air at night and early in the morning. Right now it says it's only 49 degrees outside! Great sleeping weather! I dread Winter, though. I really hate being cold. I'd much rather be too hot than too cold. Hopefully it will be a mild Winter again. How's the weather where you live? Do you have any leaves changing yet? I'm hoping that this year we can FINALLY make it up to the mountains to see the changing of the aspen. I've lived here in Colorado my whole life and have yet to see that gorgeous spectacle! That's downright pitiful. LOL

Hubby's parents, who have lived out on the farm their entired married life, have bought a house in town and are soon going to be joining the rest of us "city folk". My father-in-law finally had his fill of farming and is retiring at the end of this season. In fact, he might already be done, I'm not sure. They're both kinda' nervous about it. My FIL has flat-out said he's gonna hate it. I'm sure it will be a very difficult transition for him. For my MIL, too, for that matter. They've never lived in town - ever! All of the grandkids are bummed because we won't be having anymore big holiday dinners out at the farm. It was always a lot of fun for all the kids. They'd go out and play softball, take walks, play all kinds of stuff after dinner, and had plenty of room to do it in! So, they're going to be missing it a lot, too. This will be the first time my MIL has ever had a dishwasher or a garbage disposal. I know, I know, hard to believe, but true. I am SO happy that she will finally get to have a few "luxuries". It will be good to have them closer. :)

Well, that's about all, folks. Hope you're all doing well and are happy! Take good care!

Thoughts from others

Hi Leigh :) Well I sure hope you get some good news soon regarding little Brayden.

This morning while reading our local newspaper, I came across a "free tickets" offer for the theatre production, "Little Shop Of Horrors," which opens at a local cummunity centre next week.
Anyway, all I had to do was call a number and (be amongst the 1st 20 callers) give the correct answer to a question regarding the show. Easy!! I won a family pass just like THAT! :) What a great start to the school holidays. :)) The kids break-up tomorrow afternoon, so they(Bradley&Ryan)will be excited when I tell them we're going to the theatre next Wed.
OMG! It's raining...again! And I just hung out all the washing. All morning the sun has been shining, and now...well, I just didn't want the rain right now!! Looks like it's here for a while. I just heard thunder. Damn!! LOL

that's Melbourne weather for ya'! hehe The sun is shining again!!

Prayers to Brayden.
