Happy Friday!
Well, let's see .... hmmm ... it's been a while, huh! There's been a lot going on, plus sometimes I just don't want to be here (at the puter, I mean). It's not that I don't have anything to say - quite the opposite! I have PLENTY to say, but just thinking about articulating and typing it all makes me turn and walk the other way. LOL
My sister is MUCHO better, thank goodness! She's been staying with my other sister since her release from the hospital. She's located an apartment here in town and is going to be moving back very soon. I'm so glad! Having her an hour away never did feel right, especially with her health the way it is.
Miss Daisy is growing SO FAST! I can't believe it! I planned on taking some pics of her last evening, but it didn't quite work out that way. I had her all brushed and looking sooo pretty, got my camera out, focused, and then whoops!, battery's dead. Oh well, I thought, I'll just go get my backup battery. No problemo. Yeah, right. I put the other battery in and, you guessed it, it was dead, too! So, no pics of Daisy after all. I've recharged them both and will try again sometime today. And speaking of Daisy, I found a couple of very cool and informative discussion boards regarding Golden Retrievers. I've already learned so much just by reading everyone else's posts. Yes, I know, I'm canine crazy, you can go ahead and say it; but hey, better that than being crazy about .... say .... tree bark or something. LOL What can I say, I love my doggies! :)
Remember when I told you guys about Hubby and my son both getting hired by the Railroad to be Conductors? Well, they finished up their training yesterday by taking the final exam, and they both passed (of course *wink*), so training is all over! Hubby is SO glad! It went pretty fast, actually. Well, for me, anyway. It probably didn't for them. They're just glad it's all over with! I'm very proud of them both. :)
So, do you have any plans for the 4th? We don't - hubby will probably be working. My sisters, daughter and I are planning to go watch the firework display, then my daughter always shoots off her own array of fireworks here at home afterward. Other than that there are no special plans for us.
My best friend since I was 8 years old called me yesterday. It was WONderful talking to her. It doesn't matter how long it's been since we've talked or seen each other, it always feels like it was yesterday. I have another best friend since the age of 2 - YES, since the age of 2 - who is also like that; we can go for months without talking to each other and then when we do we just pick up where we left off. Friendships like that are so precious. They literally know everything about me - and they love me anyway. ;)
Blogathon 2005 is slated for August 6th. I'm finding myself to be indecisive about whether or not to take part in it this year. One day I think I will, on the next I think I won't. I'm having a hard time imagining myself with enough to talk about for 24 hours! (those who know me best would roll their eyes at that statement! lol) But seriously, I've been so "quiet" for a while now; I don't know if I could think of anything interesting enough to post about every 30 minutes for 24 hours. That said, I'd like to encourage the rest of you who are bloggers to take part - it really is a great experience! Click on that link up there and read about it why don'tcha. ;)
Well, it's after 3:00 a.m. and I think I should try to get some sleep. If I get any good pics of Daisy I'll post them, okay? If I don't "talk" to you again before the 4th, have a fabulous holiday! Eat lots of hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, potato salad and watermelon, then watch some real "ooooo, ahhhhh" fireworks! :)
Love you all! ((((huggles))))
