Prayer Request

Please pray for my sister Kelly. She is very ill. She lives an hour from here, and this morning my niece called in a panic saying her mother did not "sound right" when she spoke with her on the phone. I quickly called her myself and agreed that something was very wrong. Sarah (my niece) drove up there and immediately called the ambulance. When I last spoke with her (my niece) the paramedics were getting my sister ready for transport to the hospital. All I know is that her temp is 102.5, with her heart rate at 120. Her speech is "heavy". I am so scared .... my hands are shaking as I type this. Please, please pray for her and/or send positive, healing energy her way. I will update when I know anything new. You people are the ones I always turn to first. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being there.

UPDATE: Well, when she got to the hospital her temp had risen to 103.7 degrees, so they quickly gave her something to help bring it down. All the standard tests were done (taking blood, etc.), which revealed her white blood count to be quite high. They thought she had the flu, even though she told them that she had had a flu shot, so they did a flu test. It was negative. (duh!) So, they decided to take a chest x-ray, and voila! PNEUMONIA. All centered in the lower lobe of her right lung. So they gave her IV antibiotics and sent her home with a script for oral antibiotics as well. My niece is staying with her so she can take care of her. As soon as I knew she was going to be OK I chewed her out for ALWAYS waiting until she's sicker than a dog before she goes to a doctor! STUBBORN! She wouldn't have even gone this time if her daughter hadn't called for the ambulance! ANYway, THANK YOU for your thoughts and prayers - I'm positive they helped a great deal! :)

Thoughts from others

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear your sister is so ill. :( I hope everything goes well now that she's in the hospital. I'll keep you both in my thoughts. Take care of yourself! *HUGS*

so sorry to hear...

prayers ascending!

I'm so glad that it is being taken care of. It is so scarey when you can't do anything from where you are for the person you love.
Love you, Leigh!
