Some Of This, Some Of That
First of all, let me apologize for the comment thing. I was getting up to 100 sp*am comments A DAY, so I had to do something, ya' know? I just couldn't keep up with it. I have it set up to where all you have to do is register and then you'll be able to comment. I know it's a bit inconvenient, but I didn't know what else to do. If you have problems with it, email me and tell me what's going on and I'll try to fix it, okay?
Secondly, I'd like to ask you all for your positive thoughts and energy for my son, Ryan. I don't know how many of you are aware of the car accident he was in 3 years ago, but it really messed up his back. He and his wife (it was before they were married) were sitting at a stop light and a semi truck plowed into the back of them. Anyway, he's had to jump through hoops for the insurance companies (of course *gag*), and his last ditch effort for pain relief short of surgery was a spinal block, which he underwent last Wednesday. Well, the needle pricked a small hole in the membrane surrounding the spinal cord, and he has been leaking spinal fluid ever since. The Anasthesiologist who did the procedure said that in five years of doing this type of block, this had never happened before. Figures that Ryan would be his first! :( Anyway, this guy is REALLY nice and is treating Ryan great, going above and beyond for him. Well, Ryan was in such horrendous pain (can you say spinal headache? OUCH!!!!) that they decided to perform what is called a blood patch, where they draw some blood from his arm then inject it in the area of the spinal cord where it is leaking, thereby "plugging" the hole with clotted blood. But of course it isn't working (*said sarcastically*). Sometimes the procedure must be repeated up to 3 times! And you can just imagine how uncomfortable it is to have needles pushed into your back time and time again. But for now he is on some mighty powerful pain meds for the spinal headache that won't go away, and is under strict orders to stay DOWN, which is extremely hard for a guy who is ALWAYS on the go! He says he feels like a wuss *rolling eyes* and feels guilty for his wife having to do everything without any help from him. So I ask that you please send him all the positive thoughts and energy and prayers you can, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Finally, I wanted to share a sweet story with you which will bring a smile and make your heart feel all kinds of warm fuzzies. :)
Thanks, everyone, for being such wonderful friends! ((((HUGGERS))))
Thoughts from others
I certainly will be saying prayers for your son, I know how horrible spinal headaches can be.
That story you posted is so wonderfully cute.
