A Good and Bad Kinda' Thing ;)
Hey, Everyone.
I'm sitting here congested and runny, snarffling and sniffling, with a headache THIS big, so this is gonna be kinda' quick and to the point so I can go lie down again. This week has been full of the icky sickies. :(
ANYway, I'm getting a new puter (YAY), but my current one will be going bye-bye tomorrow so files can be transferred to the new one, so I will be offline for a few. I'm not sure how many; I may be back up and running by the end of the weekend, but I'm not sure. I'm getting a great deal, though! My daughter-in-law's brother has a degree in this kinda' thing, so he's building me a ssssssssmokin' system for about a third of what it would cost me if I bought it retail. Woo Hoo! None too soon, either; this puter has been giving me FITS for the last few weeks! I think it's haunted. ;)
Oh, and my daughter got her first phone call from a BOY! Please, someone tell me it ain't true!! LOL I'm pretty sure it was just a few months ago that she was a baby in my arms ...... how did she get old enough to get phone calls from boys?????
OK, it's time to blow my nose and take more Ny-Quil. I love you all! Don't have TOO much fun while I'm "gone". ;)
Catch ya' on the flip side! :)))

For the record, I was 20 before I got a phone call from a "boy" I was just a late bloomer.

Two and a half years ago, we moved to Tennessee! For my husband, it was coming back home, but for me, it was leaving everything and everyone I've ever known! It was horribly lonely for quite a while, so we decided to attend classes and became foster parents here! A year ago last September, we got our first two! They are sisters and the youngest two of five. For the most part they are really wonderful young ladies and we've truly enjoyed having them. Like all kids, they have their ups and downs and with one now 14 and the younger, 11, they go through the emotional difficulties of being a teen and a pre-teen. They are still with us and we've grown to love them like our own children! The 14 year old, for the first time ever, passed to the next grade last spring and both have learned to read and write so even we can read it!
We've had a couple of babies, both for awhile. A little boy we got at three months old and he was with us for almost 8 months! He's been with his dad now for 3 months and I still really miss that little guy! During the time we had him, we also got a newborn little girl. She'd been dropped in a bag at birth, then thrown over 18 feet into the woods and left to die, so she had a concussion along with being drug addicted and bruised over most of her tiny little body! Just before the little guy left, she was adopted out to her Aunt and was completely over the drugs and doing really great! She was truly a miracle baby!
About three months ago, we got three little ones, ages 5, 2 and 15 months! We kept the two little ones, but had to have the 5-year old live with someone else as he was really creating problems with fighting and hurting the younger two. They are siblings and the two younger are only 14 months apart in age! The older, a little girl has to be watched almost constantly around her younger brother as she also learned to be very cruel in her interaction with him at times! After almost three months, they are finally learning to play together better, but still have a long way to go in that area! She is a very intelligent little girl and it's hard to believe she's only 2-1/2 years old! The little guy supposedly didn't talk, but we can hardly shut him up now! He repeats everything anyone says and comes up with a number of words on his own too! All of the kids we've had were with us because of drugs! The older two have both parents in jail still because they not only used drugs, they were caught selling them as well!
Well, that's pretty much my life at this point and it gets pretty wild around here sometimes! 3 out of 4 of the kids are dealing with an attachment disorder and their tempers and so consequently, we're dealing with their tempers too! Our 14 year old had planned on having a baby by the time she was 16, but has now decided to wait until she's about 35!!! Actually, she helps out a lot, but we also try to make sure she is able to be a kid and enjoy that time in her life without having to be responsible for the younger ones too much! There has been lots of downs, lots of ups and of course everything inbetween!
Oh, I have 5 grandkids and two more on the way! I have three daughters and my husband has a son! He doesn't have any children yet, but will someday down the raod, I'm sure!
Thank you all so much for the wonderful thoughts I've been so priviledged to share in! I do pray you all continue as they are very important to me!
