Thoughts from others
She is gorgeous... she's what you needed in your life Leigh and what a blessing she is. I'm so happy for both of you. Isn't it great that at a time when you both needed someone, you found each other? :) Take care of you... glad to see you post my friend... thinking about you. ((hugs)) Always in my thoughts... xoxoxox
such beautiful blue eyes and the most gorgeous looking coat. Has she just had a bath, or is she always that gorgeous?!! ;)
Thanks for sharing these lovely pics. Love you, Leigh. *mwah*
CJ, you're so right - Lily and I were very lucky to have found each other when we did! And you wanna know something really weird? When I found the web site belonging to the breeder from whom I bought Miss Lily and began doing business with her (she lives in Arizona), we discovered through our conversations that she has been to my town several times! Back when she was a kid! Isn't that somethin'?! Just a little "puppy-buying trivia" there for ya'! LOL! ((((huggles))))
Debbie, she ALWAYS looks that good! :) It's that great Australian Shepherd hair! It doesn't tangle or mat, only needs brushing maybe once a week, never has to be trimmed, and repels dirt! That's one the things that first drew me to the breed - hardly any grooming necessary! ;) Love you! *mwah*
She is soooo PRETTY!!!! My daughter is looking for a dog, I mentioned Australian Shepard and she said no, they need too much room to run. too hyper. Are they really?
Mary Lou, it is true that they are a high-energy dog who needs plenty of exercise, but I have found that Lily gets the majority of the exercise she needs by playing with the other dogs, both in the house and outside. I would say that a fenced yard is essential, however. They really do need some space to run off that excess energy! She loves to go on walks to the park, where we let both she and Riley off their leashes and let them run, and boy do they! They run until they're about ready to drop! LOL So if there's a dog park nearby, that would be one answer to the exercise requirement. If she does not have access to either a fenced yard or dog park, and daily walks are not feasible, then I'd say she's right - an Aussie probably is not right for her. :(
