Thoughtprints

Sorry I haven't been around for so long. It's partly because I've been in a very quiet place of late, and partly because I've been so busy being a new mom. ;) Lily is doing very well and seems quite happy in her new home with her new people. She and Riley have an absolute blast together!! They run each other to exhaustion! lol

Yesterday was 2 months since Mom died. Sometimes it seems more like 2 years; other times it's more like 2 days. It's very hard trying to figure out how to do things without including her. It doesn't seem .... right. I do dream about her often, though. Almost every night. It's not so much that the dreams are about her, but rather she is just always present in them. She is different in every one of them, too -- different ages and in different stages of her life. It's actually pretty comforting, seeing her every night. I hope it doesn't stop.

I received a wedding invitation in the mail today from a young fella I used to work with. It almost made me cry. I haven't talked to him for at least 3 years, and always used to kid him about inviting me to his wedding when he and his girlfriend finally got married. lol I also used to tease him that their kids would be geniuses since they are both SO smart! He would say, "Whoa! You're getting WAAAY ahead of us!". LOL Then today, there it was -- an invitation to their wedding. What a sweetheart he is! It touched me deeply. It really did. It shocks me that he remembered, but I guess it shouldn't since he is such a remarkable young man. He's entering medical school in the Fall, and his wife-to-be begins the journey toward her Ph.D in science. Damn -- their kids ARE going to be geniuses! lol I couldn't be happier for them! They deserve all the happiness in the world! Congratulations, Adam and Katie! :)

I will have pics of Lily to post this weekend. My oldest son has my digital camera so he could take stills and video both of my daughter-in-law during her pregnancy, so I just went out and bought one of those disposable Kodak cameras and took a bunch of shots tonight. I'll get them developed and scan them this weekend, I promise! :)
