A Birthday, A President, and Mom
First of all, I want to wish my dear friend Debbie a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Debbie lives down in Australia, so right now it is her birthday where she lives, but here it's not her birthday until tomorrow, the 6th. So technically, her birthday is TWO DAYS LONG!!
It also happens to be her son's birthday, as well! So, Happy Birthday, my friend!! And Happy Birthday, Ryan!
I guess you've already heard that Former President Ronald Reagan has died. I really liked him a lot. He was just a very "real" President, and a down-right decent human being. I'm happy for him that he has finally been released from the body which held him captive. Alzheimer's Disease is just so .... cruel. I'm glad he is free from it now. I always admired him very much, and thought the devotion he and his wife shared was very special and quite unique. May he rest in peace.
It's strange ...... my mother passed away on a Saturday 6 weeks ago; her oldest friend died on a Saturday 4 weeks later; and now President Reagan died exactly 2 weeks after that. I'm beginning to not like Saturdays very much at all.
Speaking of Mom, I scanned some really cool pictures the other day. Her cousin Joanne (not the "Pearl" Joanne I wrote of previously), with whom she was very close while growing up, sent my sister some pictures she had found of Mom recently. When I looked at them, I cried; but they were tears of happiness, knowing that she enjoyed such happy times when she was young. I've created a page with those pictures if you'd care to see them. (will open in new window)
I guess that's all that's on my mind for now. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! :)
Thoughts from others
She was one beautiful lady!!
I bet it was fun growing up with her!!
I'm sure you miss her terribly, but her suffering is over, and she is in Heaven watching over you!

These last six weeks must have been so difficult for you and your family. I do hope that the sad tears fall a little less and more happy ones are there.
It's so nice to read you words here. I think about you so often.
