Update

The ambulance bringing Mom back to town will be arriving at the nursing home around 2:30pm. I'm scared to death, you guys. The report from the nurses at the hospital is that she is more oriented today, but rather indignant about where she is going. I knew she would be. I'm so afraid to face her. I know how hurt she is going to be.

Please send good vibes my way, k? We can sure use 'em! Thank you ((((hugs))))

Just remember...it's not your fault that your mother has been transfered to a nursing home. Unfortunately, it has got to the stage where full-time and constant care is needed and that's just impossible for you and your sisters to cope with.
Yes, life can be so unfair.((((I'm so sorry)))))I do hope that the nursing home isn't as bad a place as first thought. The most important thing is that the staff are wonderful! I'm sure caring, understanding and compassionate nurses will make your mum's stay a whole lot more bearable. You've done all you can, Leigh. And you've done damn well! I'm here if you need me.

Be as strong as you can, Leigh (I know you're feeling completely zapped). This is a huge adjustment period for everyone and emotions are riding sky high. You can't take it personally if she takes her frustration out on you. Sometimes it's easier to hurt the ones we love than strangers. Hang in there....

It is because you love her that you are doing what you have to do. Though it is a very trying time, she will come to acknowledge it in the end, that you and your sisters did what was best for all of you (which includes her). She will also have company of other folk around her and that interaction and socialising could very well be what she needs to perk herself up and get herself mentally strong again.

Right now you are upset, but it will get better. I hope your mom doesn't take it out on you!! It is so hard watching your parent go downhill!! I went through it, we all have to go through it, dangit!!
