The Truth Is

Hi you guys. So how was your weekend? I hope ya'll had lots of fun, laughter, smiles and relaxation goin' on. :)

My weekend hasn't been all that great. My daughter has been sick. She caught yet ANOTHER cold (school is SUCH a breeding ground for that stuff!), and has been running a fever and coughing like crazy all weekend long. It has affected her asthma, too, which is kinda' strange, because that hasn't happened in a very, very long time. At least she has a 3-day weekend (no school tomorrow), so she will have an extra day to be home and get to feeling better.

Other stuff has been going on, too. Things involving my mother that just leave me emotionally spent. I don't know, it's ... difficult for me to talk about. Time has marched much too quickly, and things are coming to pass which, when I was young, only seemed like abstract thought; a far-off supposed inevitability.

The truth is, I don't know when or how often I will be "around", or if I will even feel like "talking" when I am. I am drained most of the time these days. Faith, Michelle, I know I promised you that I would help you with your designs, but I think it will be a while before I can do that. I am SO SORRY. Please accept my apology. (oh that was weird .... when I was typing that, I typed the word "responsibility" instead of "apology". that kind of speaks volumes, eh?)

I will visit you all as often as possible, I promise. Just remember, though, that even when I'm not visiting, I'm still thinking of you. :) You're all such wonderful friends!

I am sorry you are having a difficult time at the moment and hope things improve considerably for you. If you ever need to dump on someone, I am just an email away and will glady listen and give you support. Take good care of yourself and not to worry about us - we will be here when you are ready to come back. I will be thinking of you and your mum. Good wishes to Callie too.

Been there, And It ain't fun!!! When a parent is getting older and their bodies are failing them, It just brings to mind your own mortality, and the thought comes, OHMIGAWD! When S/he goes, I'm the next generation to go. Yu just dont want to face that, but you know you have to. I'll be thinking of you.

You just take care of yourself, your daughter and your mother. I love to visit and see the new things you've done, and one of these days I'll get off my OWN butt and start designing!! Just be happy, and visit when you can.

I'm so glad that you keep us posted, Leigh, about when things are rough. At the very least we don't have to wonder and thoughts can be focused where they should be: on sending you the strength and encouragement and friendship that you need to help you through everything.

I know you'll take as good of care of yourself as you will of Callie and your Mom. Right?
