A Sticky Situation
This morning began like every morning -- as soon as I get up each day, Riley hears me and comes to greet me. :) However, on this day, one thing was different; when I reached down to give him his morning lovin', I felt something strange. I looked down and saw, through morning-bleary eyes, that he had something embedded in the hair all around his ears, the top of his head, and under his chin. I was horrified, to say the least (and downright pissed!). I immediately went out to the livingroom where Hubby and Daughter were, and asked them what had happened.
Apparently, early this morning when Hubby was out in the garden, Riley decided he wanted to go running around and found himself stuck in some tall grass which had gone to seed. Have you ever seen tall grass that's gone to seed? More importantly, have you ever walked through it?? If you have, then you know the seed heads stick to anything they touch like a fly to flypaper!
Well, I frantically took Riley into the bathroom and ran some warm water for a bath, thinking that if I got him soapy enough, I could pick them out. WRONG! Those babies were STUCK! My poor little guy .... he looked so pitiful! They were stuck so badly in the hair of one of his ears, that the ear itself couldn't even fully "open" because the two sides were stuck together. He had a big one wound up in the hair of his chinny chin chin, too. ANYway, we ended up calling our groomer, who kindly told us to bring him on in. Hubby and my Daughter took him. I sat here fearing the worst. I told my daughter to tell Vicky (our groomer) NOT to shave his whole little body! My gosh, if that happened, he would look like an oversized rat running around. LOL He only weighs 4.5 pounds after all! Well, about an hour and a half later, they walked in. LOL! Omgosh, you guys, he looks so funny! She had to shave all the hair off his ears, face, chin, and neck (all the way around); but the rest of his body has the longer hair. LOL! And wouldn't you know it, my digital camera is still messed up (and I don't know why!), so I can't take a picture! I'm gonna try to fix it tomorrow or the next day so you can see what he looks like with this new "do" of his. LOL! Ohhh man, the poor little guy! How traumatic for him! lol
In other news ... *grin* ... I'll be taking my mother to her doctor's appt. tomorrow, so I don't know if I'll be online much. In my absence, I would appreciate it very much if you all had a WONDERFUL MONDAY! :)
