Running Off at the Fingers

Omgosh, I have so much to say! lol Let's see, where shall I begin? I'll start with the best first! :)

Those of you who have been visiting me here for a while know that I talk about my porch a lot. It is the one place where I can think clearly. I go out there, sit in my wicker chair, look outside, and magic happens. Thoughts gel and my soul whispers. Most of my poetry was born while sitting on my porch. :) But I digress.

This afternoon (Mon.) around 4:00 I went out there to sit and think a while. I was looking outside, just letting my thoughts meander when, unconsciously, I shifted in my chair. When I did so, something caught my eye in my mail slot. At first I thought it was simply a piece of mail I had not seen earlier when I brought the mail in, but as I looked closer I realized it was something small and gift-wrapped. When I took it out, it was immediately recognizable as a book of some kind. Taped to the front of it was a simple slip of paper with my name on it. Being the surprise-loving person I am, I excitedly tore into it. It was, indeed, a book, and attached to the front of it with an angel sticker was a type-written note which read:

ohh unexpected presents are the best.

As for the Blogathon 2003 I have no clue so I can't offer any advice.
