Running Off at the Fingers
Omgosh, I have so much to say! lol Let's see, where shall I begin? I'll start with the best first! :)
Those of you who have been visiting me here for a while know that I talk about my porch a lot. It is the one place where I can think clearly. I go out there, sit in my wicker chair, look outside, and magic happens. Thoughts gel and my soul whispers. Most of my poetry was born while sitting on my porch. :) But I digress.
This afternoon (Mon.) around 4:00 I went out there to sit and think a while. I was looking outside, just letting my thoughts meander when, unconsciously, I shifted in my chair. When I did so, something caught my eye in my mail slot. At first I thought it was simply a piece of mail I had not seen earlier when I brought the mail in, but as I looked closer I realized it was something small and gift-wrapped. When I took it out, it was immediately recognizable as a book of some kind. Taped to the front of it was a simple slip of paper with my name on it. Being the surprise-loving person I am, I excitedly tore into it. It was, indeed, a book, and attached to the front of it with an angel sticker was a type-written note which read:

I removed the note and found a beautiful little book entitled, "Sisters ~~ Words from the Heart". My wonderful sister, Debbie, had stealthily placed this beautiful gift inside my mail slot. How special is that! :) I came inside and immediately sat down, reading it from cover to cover. It brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Two passages, inparticular, seemed to personify the relationship my sisters and I share:
Sisters count on each other -- unfailing support, honest advice, little favors, impossible impositions, and whatever else is required.

One sister bakes the cake,
the second comes up with
clever decorations for the
party, and the third writes
gracious thank-you notes to
everyone who came. After so
many years together, the trio
has learned to appreciate and
depend on each other's talents.
Could I possibly be more blessed?? See, I told you I'd start with the best! :)
Moving right along ... *grin* ... did any of you participate in last year's Blogathon? I've seen Blogathon 2003 mentioned on a couple of blogs lately, so I went to the web site and took a look today. The idea intrigues me and I think it sounds like a lot of fun! If I'm going to do it, I need to decide relatively soon. I think the sign-up day is on the 28th. I would need to decide on a charity and try to think of a "hook" or "gimmick" to get people interested enough to donate to my charity. So, if any of you are old pros at this, I'd love some pointers! Thanks! :)

Last, but not least, I was doing some reading over at Kristine's and found a link to Blog Barter. I want to go on record as saying I think this is a GREAT idea! Go! Read! Then pass the word! :) Let's all network and help each other out!
Okay, I think I'm finished now. Well, for a while anyway. ;)

ohh unexpected presents are the best.
As for the Blogathon 2003 I have no clue so I can't offer any advice.

You are sooo blessed, dear Leigh. :))) Such a sweet thing for Debbie to do...surprise her little sister with a gift straight from the heart. Oh yes, my friend...you are truly BLESSED!
