There is a man who lives just 15 miles from here who, without question, embodies the term "passion for the art of creation". He is a sculptor, and has been amazing people with his art for the last 20 years. Now, he doesn't sculpt clay or mere busts of people -- he sculpts huge, giant works of art.
He began sculpting trees which were tagged for removal around the city. He requested permission from city officials and homeowners alike, and thus began his fame and notoriety. But, as well-known as he and his art become, he prefers to stay out of the limelight. A recent newspaper article read, in part:
After reading this article I was, once again, awestruck by this man's immense gift and genuine humility. I wish I could type out the entire article for you to read, but it is way too long. I relate so much to the things this man, the artist, says. In speaking about what his art means to him, he said:
Mind you, the man carves and sculpts without any kind of template other than what he might have drawn on a piece of paper, and sometimes nothing, aside for the picture in his head. Can you imagine that?? Scultpting something as huge as a tree and NOT making a mistake??? Or making one, but then turn around and make it beautiful?? Amazing!!
The article went on to say:
I SO know what that means!!!! I feel the very same way about my drawing, writing, and even web design. It takes me away to a peaceful, creative and exciting place, away from the madness of this world.

That quiet place you go to when you create art can be pretty special, I agree. Love the website, by the way.

Wow, his work is breathtaking. That angel sculpture is absolutely amazing. I wish I could: a) afford it & b) fit it in my apartment. ;)
