I was reading an entry by Kristine over at Kadyellebee, in which she is talking about vivid dreams she had while napping. It reminded me of what happened Friday night/Saturday morning.
It isn't uncommon for me to get ..... these "feelings" ..... sometimes accompanied by .... I don't know, I guess you could call them "thoughts". I learned the hard way a long, long time ago to always heed them. So anyway, Friday night I'm sitting here, and out of the blue I hear, "it's going to be a bad-dream night", and this feeling just washes over me. Well, there isn't a whole lot I can do about dreams, so I pushed the thought aside and told myself not to think about it, or it would happen for sure. A couple of hours later I went to bed, and had completely forgotten about it.
I awoke at 8:30 Saturday morning, relieved to be awake. My dreams weren't terrifying, but they were definitely uncomfortable and distressing. There were snakes and bugs and huge spiders in them! So, knowing I didn't want to go back to sleep because I often pick up my dreams from where they left off when I do, I got up. I still didn't remember the feeling and thought from the night before.
I guess I'd been up for about an hour, and had begun my morning reading here at the computer. I didn't have the TV or stereo on -- nothing. It was totally quiet. I love it like that. Plus, my daughter was still sleeping and I didn't want to disturb her. All of a sudden, I heard her screaming! I ran into her room and there she was, sitting on the bed, breathing heavily and sweating. She looked up at me with fear on her face and told me she had had a horrible, horrible dream. It was right then that I remembered what had happened to me the night before. I had just assumed it was for me. I suppose it's a good thing I didn't think about it pertaining to anyone else in the family, or I would've stayed up all night long, watching over them. Anyway, she proceeded to tell me about her dream:

your poor daughter, what an awful dream!!! :( when you wake up from landing (i've only landed a couple times, but omg, i remember them vividly) it's so disorienting, even more so than a "usual" bad dream... i think hitting the ground lends it a feeling of credibility, you know? anyway, i'm glad she has you to soothe her fears. :) and i'm glad you heed that voice!!!!! so many people refuse to even hear it, let alone listen to it!!!
