When I was out of town week before last (when my sister was in the hospital), I would call home each night to speak with my husband and daughter (she's 10). My oldest son, Ryan, who is 24, would call my cell each night when he got off work to check up on us. My younger son, David, who is 19, was held captive in the world of teenagehood, so I never spoke to him once. lol Anyway, when I returned home after being gone for 5 days, my daughter was sooo happy and excited! Later that night, though, she confided something in me: she said that some nights, she would cry herself to sleep because she missed me so much; but at the same time, she thought it had been kinda' good that I was gone, because "I think Daddy and I really bonded! We got even closer!". Is that sweet, or what! During that whole week, my hubby, bless his heart, left for work late each morning so he could take her to school, and left work early in order to pick her up and be home with her, so they spent a great deal of time together.

God certainly does bring good things out of "bad" things! He said that He would never leave us or forsake us, and so far, He hasn't! Yes, family is so very wonderful and so much fun to spend time with! We need to do it more often. We need not to just "say it", but we've got to do it!!! Now, let's start thinking about what our next adventure will be! :O)

Wayne and I were just leaving when Callie and her Dad were leaving for dinner. We asked her if she had "forgotten" someone, and she said "Oh no...tonight is just for Dad and me!" She was SO excited! :-)
I totally agree that we need another 'adventure', but PLEASE let it be a fun adventure, and relaxing, and full of laughter, and new happy memories. Gee.....it could even include a hot tub!!

Awwwwwwwww, that is so amazing. My father and I don't get along at all, and I always wish we had had a better relationship when I was growing up. What a blessing this is.
