What Does This Mean?

I went out on my porch today and sat in my wicker chair to look at the day. A bright blue sky with not a cloud in sight, blindingly bright sunshine, and a whisper of a crisp winter breeze graced my senses. As I scanned all that I could see, my vision fell on something moving in the big tree in front of our house, standing tall and proud in its season's nakedness. I broke out in giggles as I recognized it to be a blue wal-mart sack. I found it amusingly ironic that it would be there. "What does this mean?", I thought to myself. Perhaps it signifies the entity known as wal-mart should be hung! lol Or perhaps it is arrogantly touting its existence altogether. In all probability, it means only that as the wind blew briskly last night, my tree reached out and snagged it as it flew by, thereby making it feel less conspicuous in its nakedness. *wink*

All I know for sure is ..... it sure made me giggle. :)

Thoughts from others

It made me think of "american beauty", when the boy shows to jane one of the videotapes he makes - the one one which he filmed for 15 minutes a plastic bag swinging in the wind, dancing for him, right before it snowed. and that's when he says, with tears on his eyes - "sometimes there's so much beauty in the world that i feel like i can't take it".

oh jesus.

I have ridden trees to strange places (there's one in the local woods that looks and feels like a two-headed dragon)...
I have felt an incoming tidal breeze soak my outstretched jacket with sea spray, lifting fabric wings far over the surf...
I have known clouds follow me down the beach on long walks, then drift over the hillside to suck fresh spirits from the misty rain...
Drifting bags probably do these things a lot. I imagine it's one of the joys of life as a drifting bag on this breeze we call life (well, actually, I don't call it life... in fact I don't call it at all. Being a breeze, it rarely uses the telephone, so it doesn't call me either... but seeing as I know where to find it, who needs technology?)

The other day, as I was walking along, whatching the leaves fall in tiny South Dakota, that same thing happened to me; a small blue bag, rolling along, with that scary fake smiley guy winking at me. I picked it up, but I didn't throw it away, I put it with the other bags at my house, a collection for when we need a bag.. the bag was alone.. picked up, then put with friends, and used in a time of need. (sadly that is sometimes kitty litter box.. maybe it should have stayed on the sidewalk..)
